Rough day.
Rough week, actually: I’ve got a big presentation when I travel next week—it’s occupying almost all of my mind on- and off-clock, and it’s wrecking my sleep.
Not good.
Finally got around to this work, and all my mind kept saying was, “I can’t.”
But my body proved otherwise!
Anyway, that’s it for today. I should get back to my slides, but realistically, I’m going to sit on the couch and fall asleep early.
Or so I hope…
Edit: The irony here is not lost on me.
I’m reading this at 0320 and I can still see my abs (well I can’t right now I’m in the dark, but you know), be the exception to the rule!
(And get better sleep if you can!)
Mate, I’m a light-weight anymore—yes, I’ve served my time with grad school, early career, littles ones, and those horrible, long, long nights during my son’s treatment, but I’ll tell you what: Stress + lack of sleep just kills me like nothing else these days… It might be the worst part of getting older!

b) Pull-up - 6

Added a round over last week, and beat yesterday’s pace by a little (while keeping it up for twice as long).
So ends Cycle 2. Deload next week, but it won’t be 7WP because I’m on the road without access to a barbell. The hotel has some kind of a gym, so hopefully schedule and energy levels cooperate enough to get a little something in.
BTW:
Words to live by!
Thanks for the reminder.
Glad you removed easy. If it is easy then it isn’t conditioning anything LOL
Things like devil’s press, burpees, renegade rows, etc have no place in the same conversation as ‘easy’ conditioning.
I’ve always assumed Sven just doesn’t know what that word means.
I’m right there with you.
I haven’t done these for a couple of months, its not something you add in if you’re not fully commited ![]()

Today’s workout was literally a blank page, so I filled it in as I went along.
Welcome back mate, work/travel went well?
Excellent Effort!
@raven78 - Thanks, mate! The trip was “good,” in that I survived and the travels themselves went smoothly. The days of meetings were long and intense, but I did, in fact, survive.
@Friedrich - Thank you! I’m looking forward to settling into some kind of routine again.
Speaking of which…

Workout: More stuff, 1920-1950 (30 minutes)
3 rounds of:
a) Run - 600 meters
b) Wall ball - 20 lbs - 12
c) Pull-up - BW - 6
Another blank page today, so…
Besides:
Moving the discussion here, because I don’t want to clog up @alex_uk’s log with my childhood problems (haha!).
Yes, absolutely.
The issue I have with the way things went is this: The feelings I felt were real, and I didn’t know what to do about them. I knew enough about “right” and “wrong” to understand boundaries and whatnot, and I figured out all the rest of it eventually, but that process probably would’ve been a lot easier, a lot faster, a lot more successful, and a lot less guilt-ridden IF I had been able to talk with him about it.
And THAT is what I want to be different for my son.
He will absolutely respect his mother, and his sister, and all women, really, but I believe there is a way for him to feel the feelings, understand them, and, most importantly, own them.
I may be a fool, but I think I can teach him that.
Either way, I know this for sure: I can only attempt teach him if we can have a conversation about it.
And then another.
And another.
And…
