Super Squats
Wednesday - 27 December 2023
Workout: Active recovery, 1445-1510 (25 minutes)
Alpha Male - about 1240
Bike@120-140 bpm - 15 minutes
Everything hurts.
But:
I’m pretty happy with my performance on BTN press, given that I just barely hit 3x10 with 100 lbs on Sunday.
I smashed 3x12 with 185 lbs on bench this morning. That was my first attempt.
I think my form on the BB rows at 150 lbs is progressing, even if the reps and weight aren’t.
I finally—FINALLY (!)—got 2x10 at 80 lbs on those BB curls.
I squatted 285x20 and did not die. Yes, metaphorically speaking, I died and then some—but in reality, I kept moving and finished out the work.
Oh, and I’ve already eaten more today than I did yesterday—or something close, anyway. Certainly that will be true once the day is through.

1-pump burpees + 32-kg KB swings - 2x(25 + 25), 25-second rest between sets
WV walk - 30 kg - 30 minutes
Fasted. And everything still hurts…

Impressive set regardless. Way to get back after it and hit the remaining reps plus a couple on top. I would be happy hitting a good triple with that weight right now.

@shaneinga , @hustlinghat93 - Thanks, guys! In any other context, I’d be thrilled—295x15 is a legit rep PR, and it’s even a breathing squats PR.
But Super Squats plays with your head, so anything less than 20 is somehow disappointing…
And more so today because I KNOW I had more to give—maybe not 7, like after the rest, maybe not even 5 more, for 20 in one go—but I had a least another one or two in the tank when I racked it and collapsed.

Oh I know this feeling so well. I missed a few times and it plays with your head. Looking at the reps it was definitely a mental stop and not a physical one. Maybe a few more breaths at 15 and then take them 1 rep at a time. You have definitely got this. Amazing job so far mate.
