Because You're White

Do those two gentlemen get national attention on major news outlets? Did they have any success in their run for President. What riots resulted from their speeches and input? I’m sure the leader of the KKK speaks out too, but unless the local paper picks it up or he gets 10 seconds of fame on one station, no one hears him.

There might be plenty of trees that fall in the forest, but the one that falls in the inner city makes the loudest noise it would seem.

P.S. Just Googled, Duke looks like a Pedophile and Robertson looks familiar but no idea who either of these guys are. At least Sharpton looks like an Eddie Murphy character from Coming to America (maybe why he gets more televised time) and Jackson has the 'stache. Us Whites are clearly out-classed on public representatives for our racial feelings.

Stereotypes are the way they are, because to a great degree they are true, whether people like stereotypes or not.

And I do recall other folks doing stereotypes in there as well - like all Japanese women are beautiful and skinny. That is complete bunk and we both know that. But its a stereotype that gets touted everywhere and American guys into Anime love the thought (and so do Japanese girls, they want to be cute - again a stereotype mostly true).

Until those stereotypes prove completely false they will remain. Either accept them and their humor, or just close your eyes and deny them pretending they aren’t there.

Last I checked the world already has decided who each of us are. Hence why many are judged before they open their mouths based upon appearance, and even moreso after the first few moments speaking. Its a reality, a sucky one, but the truth. Yes, individuals may not judge, but as a whole, people do it all the time. I’ve personally yet to shun someone, at least until they’ve proven themselves lazy, irresponsible, or caniving/cutthroat. Life’s too short to try to be everyone’s buddy.

Spoken out against what? I don’t know any black people who think Jesse Jackson speaks for them.

Maybe you should be asking why you would even harbor the idea that one man can speak for an entire race.

I think that is the much larger problem.

This would never happen with white people. There would never be one guy seen to speak for the entire race.

This thought process is racist at its core.

Nice try bro, it’s not about what I think…it’s about what they say and how many believe them.

Then you would blame those people who for even one second thought another man could speak for me.

That is racist.

Quite the reach there…but if thinking that makes you feel superior or correct in some warped way, carry on.

It must be hard to carry all that hate around.

You might want to spend some time someplace else with nicer folks.

What hate?

Showing you that it is racist to think I don’t think like an individual is not showing hate.

It is showing you the truth.

No hate involved here.

NO…you wrote this:

Which means you seem to think many people do think I don’t think like an individual…which is racist.

You seem more worried about being called a racist than stopping the racism happening.

You are still clinging to that weak sauce argument.

Tons of polls on MSNBC and CNN said people…many people…BELIEVED what they were saying, it’s not racist…it’s fact.

I know this is going to be REALLY hard to wrap your head around (with your favorite quote “I don’t watch tv”…we know, we get it after the 500x you said it) but people believe what they are told on t.v.

That’s not racist, thats advertising.

It doesn’t matter if a poll was taken. IT IS RACIST FOR ANY OF THEM TO BELIEVE ONE MAN SPEAKS FOR ME OR ANY OTHER BLACK PEOPLE AS A WHOLE ENTITY.

Uh, no…it actually is racist and you just proved how vast that racism expands.

You just proved institutional racism. Thank you for that.

The moment one man is seen as speaking for the entire white race, let me know.

Oh sweet jesus…it’s like arguing with you in the pre-exhaust thread, no matter what you always think you are right.

I’m done…you have now polluted yet another forum.

Go back from whence ye came.

Funny how you focus on me alone when you don’t have any support for your statements.

About this I am right. It doesn’t matter how many polls get taken. The ONLY reason the idea is entertained that one man can speak for all of us is because of institutionalized racism.

This idea would never be entertained for a second when it comes to white people as a whole.

If you want to know what I think or any other black person, you ask them…not Jesse Jackson.

You people take this shit way too seriously.

If you’re not going to have fun with it, then I just don’t see the point in arguing on the internet.

Is that Speed Racer? I always wondered how he turned out.

Blanket statements like “the blacks are athletic and they’re good dancers and they commit a lot of crimes” or “the Japanese are reserved and industrious and can’t handle alcohol” or “the whites are intelligent and rich and power-hungry” or “Chinese are studious and cunning and avaricious” are stereotypes that people don’t question too hard, despite the fact that they are wrong in many, many, many cases.

Yes, many individuals from each group do possess the qualities of their respective group’s stereotype, but so do a lot of individuals from the other groups. Classing people by their ethnic stereotype, an assuming that all or most individuals in that group conform to the stereotype, is intellectual laziness.

And avoiding or shunning an individual based on your assumption that he or she conforms to the stereotype is bigotry. Not only does it keep you from interacting with people who might otherwise benefit you, it creates a self-perpetuating cycle in which people in each group assume certain aspects of the stereotype to be true, and may not try to be anything other than what “everyone knows” to be true about them anyway. Some people are able to break free from their ethnic stereotypes. Most are not.

So this, and only this, is my rationale for thinking that discrimination or racism or bigotry or whatever you want to call it is a negative thing: that it denies the individual the rights mentioned in the Declaration of Independence. It’s hard to live, let alone be free and pursue happiness, when the world has already decided who you are and what you’re going to be. Especially if what they think you’re going to be is not that much.

Well done!

Racism is so engrained into political, economical, social aspects of America you could go on for days. It’s important to change the stigma attached to race or else we will keep teaching younger generations it is okay. Arguing with racists on the internet is a good way of showing how dumb they sound when they spew their misconceptions.

I think if you believe racist ideologies you really need to examine why you believe it and is it a just representation of an ethnic group as a whole. It is in my experience and studies that those who are racist usually associate their own shortcomings or insecurities into the other which is the enemy.

In short many racists are culturally bread from ignorance ultimately coming from self hate and a need to divert the blame from themselves onto the other’s who can be a clear physical enemy. When you get to know people of other ethnicities you will learn they are much like you because they are human, cultural differences are apparent yet shouldn’t be attributed to genes superiority ect. You should be more weary of ideas then people.

Ryuu, do you mean to imply that one black dildo can represent the dicks of an entire race? That’s racist!

the green twisted one looks like it would untangle my intestines. good times.

It is a generality, but your butthurt is strong enough that describing something that is common in the news world and affects all of us is somehow racist. Then pretty much the entire world and everything that is not vetted by the PC committee is racist.

I forgot, you are never wrong…I don’t know why I bother.
