Do you think there is any benefit to taking 20g. BCAAs during my workouts while trying to add lean mass? Or should I save the money for later when I have to cut?
Same goes for Se7en. Is this a supp worth the money while adding mass, or should only be used to help retain muscle while dieting?
(My normal workout routine is:
wake up - 30-40g. whey isolate, 1c. berries, 5g. creatine
45 min later workout (7g. BCAA)
PWO (10g. whey isolate, 1 scoop Surge)
1 hr later - breakfast (35g. lean protein, 1.5c. berries, 2c. green beans)
later meals are tons of veggies with salmon or chicken and nuts or shakes with fish oil.

Well, Charles Poliquin has said a lot about giving his athletes around 40g of BCAAs (I think) during their workouts and getting really good results.
I guess it comes down to the big picture (cost of supps versus real food) and how much of a difference to your progress these supplements would really make.
If money was no object I would try all the seemingly outlandish recommendations he makes.
i can’t you about se7en from experiance but i’ve used BCAAs for cutting and bulking with great results, so much so that they’ve become a staple for every one of my orders.
If you have the money i’d just spring for all of them.
Charles Poliquin says a lot of things. He definitely has some very good ideas and is obviously very successful but I can’t help but cringe at his hyerbole.
A lot of these questions have been popping up recently… I think most supps are overrated.
Get your basics in - creatine, a multivitamin er… that’s it really.
I’m not counting fish oil, pwo shakes, and whey as supps - they are food.
You need to make progress in the gym to change your physique - it all boils down to this.
Ask yourself - will Se7en (or whatever) allow me to lift more often/heavier? And if so - will it do it signifcantly enough to warrent the price tag or should I spend that money more productively?
If you are progressing at a reasonable rate, shut up and leave the supps in the shop.
Oh, btw - to answer your question, taking time released BCAAs during bulking is utter madness. If you want to use them, save them for cutting.
