BCAA's On Rest Days?

ive just recently added BCAA’s to my supplementation and ive got a wee question. it says to take 2 tabs before and 2 after working out, but says nothing about rest days. should i be taking it on rest days??? i cant see why not, but just asking.

thanks neil

I just got a bottle myself today finally and I’m taking Shugart’s advice on the subject:

I’m gonna start there and maybe increase dosage later on if I’m not seeing the results I wanna see.

hope that helps,

They are more important on off days.

I disagree. I think they are less important. They provide the most benefit in high doses around your workout. But they are certainly still beneficial on off-days, particularly when dieting.

What are high doses? 6 tabs before and after…12 tabs?

30-50g is a high dose.

I would use 5-10g in between meals when dieting, and at least 25g around workout times.

Yup, it can get expensive.

True. I don’t know why I was assuming the guy was automatically dieting.

On my main off days, Saturday and Sunday, are the days due to having a different agenda or list of tasks to do I am less prone to eating right away. I am usually up early and off on some honey do or outdoor outing. Since my diet is less then optimal on these days my main early morning intake are a handful of BCAA’s and a Spike Shooter. This carries me until I am able to grab a bite to eat later in the morning. Monday thru Friday are my work days and I am on a more regimented schedule in regard to eating.
