I would be curious as to the macro breakdown with such a calorie expenditure.

High carb med to high protein low to moderate fat
hes essentially an athlete and compared to olympic level athletes so carb dominancy is a must
I read/heard that Bruce Wayne would have an extreme case of well hidden aspergers. How would a mental condition like that fit into his training routine?

this begs one question. Who is, The Batman?
NO MORE DEAD COPS!
fuck! Batman must be sore all time while fighting crime with those training sessions!
So the “hidden powers” of Batman are the best genes ever AND a rich family background?
Luckiest man ever. Being bitten by a radioactive spider doesn’t seem so strange anymore.

As a training/maintenance regimen for someone who does the shit Batman does that’s a pretty weak program.
First of all Batman’s gym should be the underground incarnation of the Ninja Warrior obstacle courses. Plus some traditional Olympic style gymnastics equipment and training thrown in for good measure, especially the vault. A power rack, a few bars, weights, and specialty gpp items.
Running should be two 30 minute runs, or one 30 minute and one 60 minute run per week. I think steady state cardio gets slapped around a bit much these days. Some no frills road work is good training. I don’t see the point of a 20 mile run. Between Batmobiles, Batcycles, Batcopters, Batjets, Batclaw/grappling hook, and a glide suit Batman doesn’t need to ever run 20 miles. If I’ve learned anything from Arkham City it’s that running is the least efficient means to get around town.
To go along with the running is the Kata. Kata is cardio work. Anyone who has trained in Martial Arts like Tae Kwon Do, Karate, Weapon styles, etc… has learned kata. And that shit can be exhausting. Every belt has it’s own form, and going thru the forms from white belt to the black belt ranks can take 30-40 minutes. I’ve done some intense kata practice and would liken it to running sprints or bleachers. Kata can also be slowed down too. It can be more meditative and gentle. Kata is one of those things I see Batman doing on a near daily basis, but not so regimented like in that program.
While on the martial arts subject, how does Batman keep his sparring sessions so specific? He’s really only got 3 possible sparring partners at home in the Batcave. Dick, Tim, and Damien. Damien is probably always close at hand, but Dick and Tim have their own roles as superheroes. I suppose Batman can spar other JL’ers over at the Hall of Justice or the Watchtower. Still it seems like a big hurdle to jump scheduling for sparring partners for Friday evening with a superhero’s life.
Why does he have 30 minute flexibility sessions and 30 minute Yoga sessions? It makes more sense to just do yoga. They do the same thing, but I find yoga to be more challenging than traditional stretching while wielding greater results. On that same note, meditation should be a daily thing too. Maybe not so prescribed as 30 minutes a day, but as needed. Dennis O’Neil’s run on “The Question” showed what yoga and meditation should look like when used by a superhero to great effect. It was nothing so bland as 30 minutes on Sunday morning.
I think they got the right idea about his weightlifting. I do believe his weightlifting would be of the “One Lift A Day” ilk. Probably based on a 10 day schedule rather than a 7 day. With all the other crap he has to do it’s not like he has time for a complicated routine. Get in. Lift. Go on to the next thing.
Overall the whole program seems to compartmentalized for someone like Batman. I can see five minutes of basic target practice. Then Batarang practice should be mixed in with sprints, tumbling, jumping, and sparring. Occasionally sparring should be done on the balance beam, as should kata. I would expect Batman’s training to be more innovative. Unfortantely innovative is tough to explain on a single piece of paper.
Why spar period? You spar to prepare you for one or two fights.
Dude Batman spars every night.

Yea would be like Angry Chicken needing to flog the dolphin, dude is getting laid every night by different women.

Exactly. He’s got to train for fights, so he doesn’t get his shit rocked by the next Bane or Prometheus that comes along.

I’d think his macro breakdown would be 100% protein, 100% carbs and 100% fat.

Just so we’re clear, you’re saying that Batman eats 100% of the protein in Gotham, right?

Batmans actually supposed to be 6`2 and 215
thats fail number one
Remember Batman can also bench press 1000lbs as stated in a comic book
He also has a perfect diet that he never goes off of, thats why he drinks ginger ale at parties and pretends its champagne
also i love how batman only does total body movements and no isolation movements, the guy looks like a bodybuilder and obviously wants every single muscle as strong as possible.
I think his workouts would look more like a strongman/bodybuilder hybrid.
I dont think his cardio would be nearly so high because he has that training at night every night crime fighting so why the hell would he be wasting his time doing simple steady state cardio? Hes a genius he would know thats not the best way to gain the type of explosive speed, strength, endurance he needs. His workouts probably would not be nearly as taxing as these would be. He wouldnt focus on fu*king circuits if he has cardiovascular training all damn night. his training should be broken into, martial arts training and strength/power/speed training. Im going to remake his program based on how I would do it if i was Batman which i am
Agreed!
Basically, he’s doing advanced parkour, rope swinging, and technical rock climbing when he’s out patrolling at night, with a few MMA-type fights thrown in. Why would he need to add any kind of cardio to all THAT? Last thing he would need is simple calorie burning activity. If anything, he’d be hard pressed to take in enough calories to maintain his weight with his extreme amount of physical activity!
I also totally buy that he’d be only about 210 or 215 lbs. While a certain amount of size would be useful for the intimidation factor, his training would be all about maximizing his fighting ability and the other physical skills he needs - like gymnastics/tumbling, climbing, sprinting, and jumping. No offense to powerlifting, which I happen to love, but I think he’d be much more likely to be found doing exercises like the O-lifts and hip thrusts than he would be working to improve further on a 1,000-lb bench press.
Also keep in mind that he’s out “working” all night, every night. He gets away with sleeping through most of the morning on a pretense of being a hard-partying bachelor, but Bruce Wayne does still have SOME daytime responsibilities. My guess is he’s constantly sleep deprived, plus he has a cascade of cortisol from the stresses of crime-fighting and living a double life. And then you have to also figure he has more battle scars and old injuries than just about anyone, including a serious back injury. If anything, he would need to focus mainly on regeneration and rehab in his training. There, I said it… It’s not the stuff of comics, but it’s the truth.
OK, so what are the chances we’ll see Batman foam rolling or doing cable face pulls anytime soon? LOL

Sorry, Bujo. Posted before I read this.
I think you’re on the money here, especially with compartmentalizing the skills training. I would take issue with having him do ANY running, however. Sure, boxers and other fighters do roadwork, but they don’t put out the physical effort that Batman does. The guy must be burning massive amounts of calories every night, with a lot of that coming from running across rooftops. Why have him do any more running during the day?

He’s just 100% on everything.
This is a fictional character.
I’m still wondering how aspergers would fit into the equation.
There was a graphic novel called “Luthor” where Bruce Wayne and Lex Luthor have lunch.
Bruce Wayne orders:
steak “about a pound and a quarter, medium rare ,on the rare side”
“beefsteak tomato salad”
“maytag blue cheese on the side”
He also notes that he doesn’t like potatoes, may be a low-carb type of guy.
However, that’s Bruce Wayne, I have no idea what Batman eats.
