I have seen a few Justice Leagues. They are pretty good. I think I mieesed a bunch and I can’t find them on TV now. I hope they are doing a new season.
The last episode was to have aired back in May. There isn’t supposed to be anymore.
If their DVD sales impress, they’ll be back like Family Guy.
I certainly hope so. I love Justice League. I’ll have to go to amazon to do my part.
What do you guys think of Teen Titans? The anime twist they give the whole thing is wonderful.
Over here, nickleodeon shows Rocko & Ren and Stimpy at about 9pm. Does anyone remember The Tick?

I like Teen Titans to a small degree, but it is like it is missing something. Maybe it just seems a little too “childish”. The reactions and cartoon takes sometimes take away from the storyline.

I know what you mean, it is sometimes too much of a pastiche for its own good. But speaking as a huge anime fan, I simply love the fusion of japanese visual styling and western story telling. And when it does take itself seriously it can rival JL for drama. Speaking of which though, they showed the ‘Superman vs Darkseide’ episode again last night.
‘What we have here is a rare opportunity for Superman to cut loose.’
Genius.

Teen Titans tried to cash in on the Anime/Manga craze- and failed IMHO.
The animation was tacky and the “actor” who played Robin irritated the hell out of me.
RE: The new Batman cartoon. To quote Bart Simpson it both sucks and blows. And my main problem with it is the Joker. He’s a pathetic travesty compared to Hamil’s. I’d never thought about his character that way, but now you’ve bought it up it’s so obvious.
God, that was a cartoon.
I cant stand Heath Ledger. He’ll be as exciting to watch as mold growing on bread.
He even looks Brokeback in the pic. Cocky wank.
That’s assuming the casting directors have no clue what they are doing. I personally haven’t seen him act in anything that I can remember. I’m not going to assume he can’t act well just because he was in a movie about gay guys. Will Smith’s very first movie role was as a gay guy. People just don’t remember it.
As mentioned, seen him the Patriot and a few other flicks. 10 things I hate about you, don’t ask. Anyway, he just doesnt fit my mental picture of what the Joker ought to look like. But then again neither did Jack N. And he was brilliant. Heath has a lot to live up to.

THERE WAS A LIVE SERIES OF THE TICK?!?!
How the HELL did I miss that?!

I kinda like the new Batman. Joker looks cool (dont get the whole bare-footed monkey thing but anyway).
Bit over the top with the nanotech angle but actual animation is pretty good. Obviously not as good as The Animated Series but ok none the less.
The tick was great. Fairly Odd Parents has The Crimson Chin if anyones seen it.
(Argh, my 2 year old has taken over my T-Nation account and is posting comments!)
The bare-footed monkey thing was a deal-breaker for me. I just don’t know why they thought that a good idea. And Catwoman doesn’t look right either. But there we are. I’m not the Grand Arbiter of All Cartoons, much as I’d like to be.
The Crimson Chin, and Fairly Odd Parents itself, is brilliant. And Nicktoons is showing Earthworm Jim again! I think I can just about get home in time.

Yup there was. It starred Puddy (Patrick Warburton) from Seinfeld.

Jesus. I can’t even use the 2 year old excuse.
Yup, saw the ads for the Jim cartoons. Tried playing megadrive game again on emulator - christ its hard!
Back on topic: I do think the new Bat misses the darkness of the other versions. Beyond was very cool.

Although I am not the biggest fan of the new Batman cartoon (The Batman), I do at least appreciate the fresh approach. I think the Joker’s bare-footed monkey thing was to add a level of insanity in his visual movements. It wouldn’t have worked with his traditional outfit. The Joker does has some serious fighting skills and at least the Penguin is not such a big pussy anymore. Also, the movie with the new Batman vs. Dracula was pretty good, IMHO. It’s a little darker than the normal TV show and it shows actual blood from wounds.

“Let’s get Mandibular!” My kids got me hooked on it too, so you are not alone.

I have to agree. The Batman isn’t that bad. They just seem to have erased the main reason he is Batman…his dark personality. They don’t even seem to touch on the fact that he lost his parents at all. They present him as a rich guy with a bunch of toys who does that shit for no reason. The fighting skills of his enemies have never been higher.
I don’t see why they would choose the joker as the villain for the next batman…its already been done, and quite well, by jack nicholson. why not go with something completely different?

The name of the sequel is badass though.
Gotta disagree.
Have you watched the original lately? It doesn’t hold up, especially Jack.
The Joker is supposed to be the emodiment of every kid’s fear of clowns, not a chubby 60 year old ham.

The Joker is Batman’s greatest enemy and always has been. Not having the Joker would be like Superman not having Lex Luthor.

Well i guess if they keep it fresh I will end up liking it even though its a familiar villain…
The new Batman series does have a dark twist to it. Eventhough the new joker looks a little stupid, he has a real darkside to him. He turned Batmans best friend into clayface by torturing him with some serum he made up. He dressed up like Batman and took to the streets severely punished people for crimes like littering and Jaywalking. Then he injected Batman with a serum that turned him insane like the Joker. So all in all he is pretty twisted, his looks just doesn’t mix with the Mark Hamill Joker we all know and love.
The JL series was the peak of the Batman universe in my opinion the story lines were great, and definitely geared towards adults but unfortunately Cartoon Network would rather focus on stupid ass Japanimation shows like Bobobobobo so JL was cancelled, WTF!! That must be the stupidest cartoon ever created. Naruto gets a pass because the uncut Japanese version is the shit. The good news is that they are comming out with a straight to DVD movie for JL based on the Identity Crisis story line.
Also if you guys have not seen the UNCUT version of the, Batman Beyond: Return Of the Joker movie you are missing some real good stuff. The scenes are waaay more violent and adult than the one they showed on television and on cable. You can pick up a copy of the uncut version on Amazon.com.
