Post solely if you want to bash the US Army.

You have to create your own thread on T-Nation, dammit, what is this, a discussion panel?!
sorry shwartzenfarter, i titled it “bash the military” - not country specific . . .

He knows this might turn into a Bashing German Military WW2 Thread. He is part of the new Germany Army, I am persuming, which is not the same as the Nazi German Military, and he is correct. They are not the same.

I do not hate them, that would be like hating the inmates of an asylum.

I am more than willing to make fun of those who mindlessly adore them though.

Hmmmm…this reminds me…you’ve made quite the change in the last year or so.

It wasn’t too long ago that you directly compared American B-2 pilots who delivered bunker busting precision munitions in the mouths of Al Qaeda infested Afghani caves to SS troops who shoved Jews into ovens at Dachau and Auschwitz.

(For those of you newbies or those who missed this…now you know why Onion is the Royal Fuckface)

How do the actions of his relatives have anything to do with him?

edit- And to your point about American pilots, these are the same people that drop ordinance on Iraqi’s and are hailed as heroes. Sorry, they’re not.

Well, in that case…

The Austrian army is a bunch of losers.

Really.

Nothing but a bunch of old aristocrats, nazis and drunks, in any possible combination.

Who are they kidding?

They have 50 year old helicopters, 40 year old field phones and rifles where you cannot even locate the trigger point anymore.

That we even force young men into this farce for 8 months is a disgrace is simply due because nobody is willing to adress that you either shell out money for defense or you might as well let it be altogether.

On the plus side, drill instructors who tend to get too carried away get beat up a lot.

Until they need it again. One day it will make a comeback.

You were a military man who now uses ordnance in a sentence and you don’t know how to spell the word? Maybe there’s a Oklahoma Bible college nearby where you could use your GI benefits to improve your PWI communication skills.

Can you cite some cases of American pilots who received commendations of valor strictly for releasing ORDNANCE on Iraqis? This would help bolster the case you’re trying to make.
Who gives a shit? It’s a message board. You knew what I meant grammar Nazi.

Besides, I’m an artilleryman. We use different terminology altogether.

The fact that some here start threads giving e-blow jays to people that wear the uniform, and coincidentally have never met, is all the proof I need.

How many military worship threads have we seen where the term “hero” is used? Whether they (pilots) receive medals or not is irrelevant.

And you never answered my question either.

My sniffer detects some latent hostility towards the military on your part that just doesn’t add up.

Did you happen to leave the US Army under terms other than Honorable Discharge?
I have no ill will towards the military. I was honorably discharged from active duty and I’m currently in the Reserves. I met some great people while in the Service that I will be friends with for the rest of my life.

My whole thing is that people need to realize that not every individual in the military is this all American guy or gal. You’ll find some real low-life mother fuckers in the service, but yet Americans will blindly worship them and call them heros.

The military does have some great people in it (not everyone is garbage), but wearing the uniform does not equate to being a hero.

Hope that makes sense. It’s kind of hard to explain to someone who hasn’t seen the military from the “inside”.

I echo every word of this…the lowly corporal that I was.
pushharder wrote:

Why does that concept seem so hard for you to grasp?
I understand what you mean and grasp what are saying just fine.

But do you also not see that there are Americans that will defend those in the military no matter what they do?

Maybe, you don’t take it to this extreme, but there are far too many that do.
