I continued the Surge programme for another two weeks from 7th to 19th November but then decided to switch to Ellington Darden’s “Metabolic Challenges” routine from 22nd November. I did this for two reasons. Firstly, each of the metabolic challenge routines are very brief (I haven’t gone over 17 minutes on any of them yet) and this suits my work commitments at a very busy time of year. Secondly, I realised that I’d been doing basically the same sort of training for several months. I’m a big believer in what Brian Johnston writes about adaptation and the metabolic challenges routines are very different to those of the Surge programme.
I have attached a plot of body weight versus time to summarise my progress while on the Surge programme. This is also referenced back to the photographs in earlier posts so that a comparison can be made between body weight and physical appearance.
