This is pure hyperbole. It’s just someone saying words. Pointing to riots of the past or anything else doesn’t make this true nor does it make any more or less likely to occur.
It’s the typical fear the future attitude. “Ya know one day it won’t stop at a riot, but someone will set off multiple bombs and thousands will die.” Yes, that MAY happen, but to assume it will or throw out the idea that it will and be somehow related to this event is just phoenix saying stuff to say it.
Showing a bunch of things that happened in the past add no evidence to his “prediction” nor make it any less hyperbole in nature. And I’m not picking on
Phoenix.
Showing the historical precedence of societies crumbling in a way similar to Phonix’s post, over and over again, isn’t evidence that his claims aren’t really that outlandish now?
Talking about riots in previous times in our own country where people were pulled out and killed by looters isn’t evidence that his claim is based on actually happenings?
Yes it’s a prediction, and yes sometimes predictions are wrong. But the notion that we’re somehow special and the very things he speaks about aren’t one or two further instances away given the last 8 months isn’t really that outlandish.
Due to the recent downward activity of the stock market these past few days we are getting ready for another huge crash anytime.
Prediction (that has happened in the past) based on absolutely nothing. Making a large leap based on a few recent instances and pointing to the past as evidence that it is going to happen soon.
The best part of this is how correct that prediction is, and most people who follow things agree, that yes, we are in an equity bubble and things are going to burst quite soon.
Your chosen example is absolutely hilarious. Because it is likely
Keep riding that train. I won’t slow it down anymore. If the sand you’r in now isn’t comfortable, there is some over in the Europe thread too.

Actually it isn’t likely. Read my prediction. It is not hyperbole to assume the U.S. stock market is headed for another crash/downturn. I think it is. Basing that off the events of the last three days in the stock market is dumb. Markets go up and down often. We all know another crash/big downturn will come sometime. We don’t know when. And if we point out to the activity of the past three days and say it will lead to a crash immediately and does we are just lucky.
Saying the crash is now based on the last couple of days is a hyperbolic and irrational statement.
