Yeah it kind of has an Entourage feel to it. Maybe because Mark Wahlberg produced both. Should be good. It should be a good portrayal of how fucking stupid NFL players are with their careers, choices, actions, and how they manage their money. Not to mention the cut throat business aspect. The Rock was a good choice as lead character. Knows the game and area since he played for the canes back in his playing days.

Basically if you like Entourage and like football then you’ll like this show. As soon as I saw Wahlberg was involved I knew exactly what to expect.

The Rock is my favorite actor so I’ll definitely be watching.

I liked it. The Rock is great, but i feel like the stories are already tired.

He gave that dude 300k, and they intentionally showed him avoiding the handshake. I wonder what that story arc is going to be …

Should be good because it’s HBO and we’ll get boobage and 4 letter words, and what the hell else is there to watch?

Basically yes. Gotta love the rock. Peter Berg is a good director too. He plays the Dolphin’s coach.

If it wasn’t for sports (mainly football) I’d have no need for basic cable ever. HBO is where it’s at. Sopranos was awesome. I was thoroughly upset when James Gandolfini died. He’ll always be Tony Soprano to me.

Bill Maher is awesome too.

Got it dvr’ed and I’m not holding high expectation standards for it like I am with True Detective.

I’ve been power watching Entourage again and decided to give this a shot last night.

I liked it, good start, The Rock is great.

Nice light viewing after grinding through Game of Thrones

Same here chillian…true dective sure has alot to live up to. Idk if its possible to be as good as season 1…btw brink was pretty funny fighter pilots popping molly was hilarious

Lol they use amphetamines and ambien like they’re pez. That’s a very realistic reference.

Is True Detective worth watching? I have yet to see the first season. Looks like an all star cast. I’ve just never been a fan of detective shit accept for shows like Dexter.

^ um if you dont like season 1 TruD then you need to forfeit mancard

Well if you put it that way, I’ll have to give it a viewing.

Looked good, and less 2 dimensional than I expected

So I watched the first episode of season 1 of True D and OP you’re a dick. Not because it sucks, and I wasted an hour of my life, but because it’s good, and ill be wasting dozens more glued to the TV. Thanks.

Funny. And nice that Pizzolatto uses only eight episodes to tell his stories.

But it’s still dozens of hours, since the first re-watch is basically better than the first viewing.

It was bit condensed, but he made it work. Easier to follow than most shows like it. McConaughey and Harrelson were a good pair. Season 2 took a while to get interesting until the end of episode 2. Should be interesting.

I’ll have to look at The Wire. I’ve only heard good things.

I think you may have underestimated me. Fargo is a classic.

Apologies. I thought you were referring to the movie. Didn’t know there was a TV series. Which station aired it?
