Dragged myself through the first three episodes and finally stopped watching four minutes into the fourth. The plot concept intrigues me but none of the characters are written in a way that makes me give a fuck about them.
I’m liking the show, just the sort of mindless viewing that was expected. The Rock’s character doesn’t have his shit together – which is unusual for the roles he typically plays – and the “villain” of the show thus far is plenty entertaining.
And this season’s True Detective has been pretty clever.
i enjoyed the totally unecessasry quota of hot wimmenz and boobage in the last episode
What he ^ said. The quality of women is top notch.

But not living up to the 1st season, IMO. Which was probably never going to happen anyway.
She’s so fine. Dayummm! Dude better bang her. Could you resist that? It’d be a tough one. No doubt.

I wouldn’t give up just yet. I haven’t seen ep 5 yet, but I am guessing that V is going to get popped with a failed drug test before signing a contract. Had 70 million on the table and turned it down. Reggie was taking a lot of photos of his boy partying on that boat, somehow that is going to come up, I suspect. I like it so far, had to wait for HBO NOW to be available before watching.

I agree, I have only seen two episodes and haven’t been impressed with true detective…so far.

I listened to you; big mistake. After watching another two episodes, I stand by what I’ve said. That show is so shallow a gerbil couldn’t drown in it.

That sucks. At least watching those 2 episodes only cost you an hour. I am pleased with the show so far.

No hard feelings, I’ve definitely spent a few hours in even less meaningful ways in my lifetime. I just think it’s a shame because Johnson and Corddry in particular have a lot of talent and the idea is sound… But the script is oh so bad.
