Of course. What do those fossils care about what will happen after their (imminent) deaths?
What’s the bill number?
Wishful thinking, Tiribulus…

who cares about a trillion, why not make it 5 trillion ? the fucking fed will just print it up anyways, your rich asshole buddies need more money ? keep printing, get some more inflation and keep devaluing the dollar, who gives a fuck if your children have to pay off over 50 fucking trillion in debt and entitlements
CNN has a lot of Ron Paul on lately and every interview he gives pretty much amounts to “i told you so”
Yay! Our presidential candidates and fellow senators to the rescue!
McCain sure is a freaking maverick.

You’ll want to start with Community Reinvestment Act. There were also efforts to stop the carniage in 2003 and 2005, I believe. You can try and sort throught Sarbanes Oxley, or just look at the Mark to Market portion.
It was not the CRA that caused this, it was the deregulation of the banking industry supported by the GOP Congress and Clinton in 1999. You are truly grasping at straws to try and blame the CRA for this. [/quote]
It was CRA.
It was Fannie and Freddie.
It was ACORN.
It was the stupid fucking left ignoring at least 3 attempts by the Bush Whitehouse to rein in F/F.
It was the political correctness of insisting you were a fucking racist for saying CRA should not be expanded.
It was not having the balls to tell the PC police to fuck off.
It was Bush for allowing this shit to go on.
It was the dems for wanting it to go on.
It was the republicans for being just as fat and happy as the motherfuckers they were elected to replace.
It was the banks for getting drunk on subprime windfalls.
It was Sarbanes-Oxley.
It was mark to market.
Did I leave anything out? Can anyone honestly say that there is something that should not be on the list?
WHO DO I VOTE FOR NOW???
It was a clear cut McCain for me, now he voted for this horse shit.
when does the house vote?
Do we have time to broadcast a big NO to the house???

Friday - we do have time. It’s time to give everyone you know a little civics lesson and get their ass on the phone.
Google your representative’s name. Go to their website. You will most likely have to use the cached version because the govt servers will be over loaded.
Find your rep’s phone number and call them. Call them 50 times.
Every swinging dick in the HOR is up for re-election. Tell them that you will vote against him in November if he votes for the bailout.
Those of you asking, “Well, what if the other guy is worse?” - how can they be worse than a representative who won’t listen to the will of the people?
The point is to rid the congress of everyone who rammed this crap down our throats.
It’s time to do something. Bitching about it on an internet forum is like fucking a football.
This is a great article that explains what we are facing. I sincerely hope everyone here takes the time to read it!

Christ, even Sanders and Feingold voted against this abomination.
D:
I started a thread on thoughts on McCain’s vote.
For a man SO smart politically the past few weeks; I just don’t get it.

I was in my bank yesterday talking to its president. It’s a community bank that holds no bad paper, and does home financing on a very very limited basis.
It specializes in farm loans, business loans, and car loans.
He said they are just fine and will be excellent shape for the forseeable future. He is more worried about the weather than he is the future of hi bank.
I guess some people are never happy unless we are under some imminent catastrophic disaster.
I’d hate to be one of those people.

I’m sure he would tell you the truth if it were otherwise. Bankers are notorious for their kindness and honesty when facing hard times so that every depositor can pull their money out before there is a large run.
They are also well known to have their finger on the pulse when it comes to the forseeable future.
Both the CEO’s of Wamu and Wachovia said their insitutions were fine and well capitalized just days before they went belly up.
Are you really that naive?
Explain to me how a bank that focuses on businesses loans and car loans will continue to make money if and when the economy and employment are in a deep recession?
Farming represents only 1% of GDP.
If I’m happy hoping for disaster then you’re being a polyanna.

In other words IT WAS GOVERNMENT INTRUSION into a once free market.
I’ll tell you what would really work is a large enough tax revolt. That’s essentially what the revolution started as. I’m not saying take up arms, but if 100 million tax payers refused to pay there would be no way they could enforce it.
Most republicans and Democrats will keep us on this path and 3rd parties do not have the money to compete.
We’re in a position of choosing our executioner, but not whether to be executed or not.
We can only pray the house kills it again.
I think we need whatever crash may come with doing absolutely nothing and letting the chips fall where they may. If I wind up homeless and starving at least the country would be saved from itself… for now again.
It’s just about inevitable at this point man. You think this Irish guy is a nutcase? He represent s a good portion of the populous who are utterly immune to evidence and will not rest until this country dies the same bureaucratic death every other socialist bastion has or is. Even while citizens proclaim their opposition to this socialist takeover Obama climbs in the polls. We’re a sick stupid country at this point that deserves what we get for falling asleep while we were still at the wheel.
Now “THEY"RE” at the wheel and we are handcuffed in the trunk.
Mccotter was just on FOX declaring this bill as not fundamentally changed from the original, a short term band aid of over intrusion and saying he will not vote for it.
