@Voxel The opportunity may be there, but that does not mean it is easy. Fortunately, I don’t think this mindset has inhibited me much in pursuits unrelated to lifting. But of course no one really knows what “could have been”
Standing ab wheel progression 13, 10 ended with 21 rollouts from knees
More pull ups to 50
40 band pull aparts
Lacked much time for conditioning, and for some unknown reason the tabata front squats sounded better than hopping on the assault bike. I have to say that this was a tad underwhelming. I used the empty bar (just shy of 35# since I use a women’s bar) because I read that men are usually gassed without adding extra weight. But this was not taxing in a cardiovascular way; instead I think I would have achieved the same effect with a long duration front rack hold. Sure, legs are tired during it, but I didn’t feel that beat afterwards. Glad I tried it though.
I’ll add some positivity here though since people think I’m excessively pessimistic. Sadly not lifting-related, but I just found out that a paper on which I am a second author was accepted for publication I worked hard in college on research but my PI then didn’t seem to encourage undergrads to contribute, so it feels like a long time coming. This is a great Christmas gift since the holidays aren’t a fun time of year for me even when there isn’t a pandemic that destroys the year
I think you should replace “since” with “lest”. As a frequent commenter in this log, I (for one) don’t think you are pessimistic. I’m just a glutton for telling people to be kinder to themselves, and that’s because (sadly) the people around us are far less likely to comment on how awesome we are than for us to get into the habit of viewing ourselves in a positive light — they others are, oftentimes, too busy critiquing themselves.
You look great, that’s the abdominals of someone that puts some weight on a bar and moves it around space.
