Bagsy's Training Log

Wow, that was great to watch. I could feel my core clenching through every rep in sympathy.

Beautiful grind right there.

I don’t think I was 100% on today, but it was still cool to beat my previous PR with this weight by 3 reps. Then I couldn’t resist pulling two plates, and it was nice to know that I could still do that while fatigued.

This is somehow familiar, but also a bit disgusting.

It’s such a foreign feeling for me. You seem to cope with it well though.

Erm, you’ve hit more than a few, Miss Humble.

Nice grind on that overhead PR. Starting to register in the RPS scale😂

Forget the deadlifts
you’re curling 55 for 11???
Damn those biceps

Only in the past couple months. Like I said, I had not PR’ed on anything overhead since February 2020. I don’t think a 70 pound 1RM warrants that long of a spell, but I am glad things are headed up rather than staying stagnant for once.

Thanks! Glad you’re back on the forum. I’ve had far worse reps than that though, to be honest, lol.

My favorite weather – 50s, overcast, and a slight breeze. The leaves are finally starting to change colors, too. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Notes:

  • I wanted double digits on today’s PR set and got it, though it was tougher than expected. I was aiming for more than that bare minimum.
  • I really thought I had 140. I did not. Disappointing.
  • I think I need to start using straps for the rows.
  • I am tired today. Overall the past couple cycles went well, but I am looking forward to taking a break from PR sets.

You probably had them without the rep out at 120 beforehand, no?

It’s possible, but I am also not good at heavy singles overall. The video of the fail is funny. I think I hesitate too much. It’s not the end of the world though.

It’s certainly a skill that needs practicing. Just as being good at high reps needs practice.

I don’t disagree. I was still upset for a solid twenty minutes though!

Nothing wrong with that. It should be at least a bit upsetting to miss goals. As long as you stop being upset in time and it doesn’t kill your weekend.

I’m not the type of person to aim for a specific number added to the bar. I am happy whenever things head in the right direction, even slowly. I’m most frustrated when nothing improves. If something does not improve on a time scale of years rather than months, I feel bad.

Don’t worry – the only thing that ever kills my weekend is if I have to work

Good attitude, buddy.
Unrelated but is ‘mate and buddy’ gender specific? Like I only know the terms in reference to men but what would be the equivalent if I’m referring to a woman?
