I agree with this! With the amount of running you’re doing there’s a fair amount of foot strike hemolysis, so this is probably a pretty significant factor for both the depressed MCH and Ferritin levels. Iron supplementation can help, but you also need to be careful with not going overboard, because too much iron is very much not a good thing for your heart and liver.

I’ve worked with runners where supplementation didn’t work to increase ferritin levels, but not running for a while and then running less, did.
