thought i share a little bit and any advice to keep from
going crazy would help a lot! last aug had surgery on knee for torn and completetly seperated miniscus medial tendon and a locked wrist tendon as well.dec tore short head bicep
tendon(really painful, sucked).day after that found out my
shoulder hurt and got progressively worse.
having shoulder
arthroscopy next monday for torn rotator cuff surgery. other than a bullet to the brain what can i do? i brought
bunch of Biotest protein to try to keep weight down, and was thinking to start walking again about 4-6 weeks after
surgery but have to ask the doc if its ok.
Barton
I’ve had a bunch of broken bones that sidelined me from any type of pysical activity for months.
It sucks but you have to focus on the little things that you can do.
Now’s a great time to increase/refresh you’re knowledge. Read as many credible sources on fitness and nutrition as you can that way when you’re body’s all healed up you’ll be ready to make better gains then ever.
you can always learn another language. thats a huge time killer.
on top of all the reading already suggested, I’d say read up on planning and goal setting. There’s enough people out there that have been side-lined and you should search around for some tips on how to bounce back hard. On top of building a lot of character, you’ll earn a lot of respect coming back from a bad year and making the next a great one!
Good Luck!
thanks for the suggestions.
Azzuri, i could bone up on sign language,
being hearing impaired myself. as for reading i’m usually reading a lot here
on the site. havent heard of any other good
sites, mostly cuz T-Nation is often the most
sound.
you could also make a book of a bunch of healthy meal recipes, protein shakes, etc.
It’s amazing though how the time will fly. The second you’re all better you’ll forget what it felt like right now so take advantage of this time.
damn how did you fuck yourself up that bad? sux
my advice would be to get a youtube account, start a blog, piss people off, watch tons of vids, etc… time will pass by very fast trust me.
This would make a good opportunity to develop your mind power. Imagine and concentrate on your injuries healing super-fast.
What would be really cool is to experiment with imagined workouts. Imagine in as much detail as possible going through your weight workouts and progressing steadily. You might be surprised to see how little strength you lose when you get back into the swing of things. Heck you might get stronger.
thought i’d update the actual damage, since
doc was going in blind cause of no MRI due
to cochlear implant. first and obvious
short head bicep tendon tear
2. rotator cuff torn in half(in the front)
3. labrum torn
4. bone spur removed
5 ACL torn
6.various scarring as result of injuries
removed.
pain after sugery: priceless and the worst i’ve ever felt. been doing passive physical
therapy for 3 weeks where they move me and
i just lie down and suffer. progress to damn
slow!

I do that regardless of my physical well being. Don’t you?
