Let’s all take a moment to pray for two things:
1: Give thanks that we live in the universe where Bradley Cooper, Zach Galifianakis and Ed Helms are in The Hangover. There is another, terrible alternate universe where Ben Stiller, Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson are the stars.
2: Let’s hope The Hangover Part 2 doesn’t appear in this thread next week.
you are kidding, right?
Not at all.
But what exactly are you referring to? I think The Hangover was fortunate not to have the “usual” comic actors from the last 10 years in it (I could even include Seth Rogen and Will Ferrel) and on the second part…sure there will be some rehashing of jokes, but I still want to have a good time when I see The Hangover 2.

The Hangover, along with all of Todd Phillips’ movies are good for one viewing and immediately lose all comedic affect afterwards.

The Other Guys was funny in a fucked up, what the hell were they thinking kind of way. It is like there was no script for the movie at all.

I don’t know what you were watching, but The Other Guys had a pretty clear and linear storyline.

“Aim for the bushes” haha
don’t watch this if you haven’t seen the movie yet and plan to
Hahaha!! I can’t count the many times I’ve watched this scene. The movie was hilarious. I loved it.
Some movies that really didn’t make me laugh:
Epic Movie
Scary movie 3
Elf
Dinner for Smucks
Grown Ups and other movies with Adam Sandler in it (actually, I liked Don’t mess with the Zohan and Click)
Due date
“Eurotrip” actually offended me in how egregiously bad it was.

I know it had a plot, but the dialogue was just nonsense 90% of the time.

So much truth here. The Hangover was funny, but so help me God I cant sit through it again
Every Will Ferrell movie apart from Anchorman

Agreed, maybe I’m missing something but the the only time I’ve ever laughed at a Tyler Perry was when Token kept snickering at the him on South Park. I just don’t get his humour

Add Adam Sandler to the list as well.
Disappointed in everything Sandler did after SNL. None of his movies are timeless classics, they’ve all lost their appeal. Sure Gilmore, Billy Madison, Big Daddy were all funny. But the later films were not funny. But I guess he wanted to take his career in different directions. I know Funny People wasn’t funny but maybe he was going for a darker comedy movie (??). I won’t even talk about Zohan…

This is not intended as a parody!
What movies do you think failed at comedy?
I watched all of Meet The Spartans and Epic Movie because they were like car accidents. They actually sucked humor out of me for days afterward.
Parody movies have been terrible over the last decade. Mel Brooks, now he could write a decent parody/comedy film - many of his films (the ones I’ve seen) are still funny today. But the Scary Movie/Superhero/Insert Genre brand of films stopped being funny. WE could write better material.
For me, anything Adam Sandler starred in was woefully unfunny.

That’s because it is non-existent.
Only black lesbians and emasculated men enjoy that tripe.
The Adjustment Bureau was a laugh riot.
Hangover 2
Any of the more recent National Lampoon movies (Dorm Daze and newer), and any of the “American Pie Presents” movies.
They all follow the same formula: not funny jokes + bad actors + tits = bad comedy movie.

grown ups had it’s moments, but walk hard shouldn’t be on this list, it’s simply awesome just like step brothers
