Backne

I know I can’t be the only dude suffering from backne. I scrub it every day and it just refuses to go away. I’m 22 years old and I’m not on steroids.

Anyone know of anything that helps?

Benzoyl Peroxide and low dose accutane.

Moisterize after getting out of the shower and drying off, especially during the winter.

A low dose of accutane killed it for me. I’ve been off it for a few months and it still hasn’t returned. I tried other methods but to no avail. Accutane is hard on the liver. I had to avoid vitamin A, and alcohol although one beer is OK to drink. Very effective.

I hated the scrubs. A pain in the ass to use and they never did anything. I found other prescriptions a products a waste of money. Not to mention the doctors visit. (worthless fuckers)

If you want to try something else go with Platinum Labz Acne Annihilator. I’ve never tried it but I’ve heard great things.

I tried this too (with my shoulders) and it didn’t work. For some people putting moisturizer on their back is impossible unless you have help.

Backne is from hormonal increases/decreases, isn’t it?

My advice? Climb into a tanning bed and purposely burn yourself. Your back should clear up within a few days. It always works for me. It also burns off ass pimples too. O.O

Second this. You don’t have to burn though. After two weeks the zits will be cooked off.

Beings I’m not a professional bodybuilder (although I aspire to be), I don’t wanna go through the ridicule that would certainly follow my entering a tanning salon. My friends are pretty relentless, and even my girlfriend might start to question my sexuality. No offense to anyone that’s into that, though.

I think I’ve had backne since I started going through puberty though. Even before I started training. So are my hormones still changing all that much?

BTW, for anyone else interested in advice, ocean water (I guess because of the salt) usually clears my shit up for like a week or so. Unfortunately I’m 2 hours away from the ocean.

Yup, getting a sunbath from time to time solved that problem completely for me.

But a little word of caution: Don’t get a sunburn on your ass if you want to box-squat the next day!

I’m not a proffessional body builder either but tan once a week in the fall and winter and twice in the spring and summer. I don’t stay for the whole time the bed allows and I tan enough to have some color, eliminate acne and even get a mood boost but not so much people can just tell I tan.

You only look bronze or orange tinted if you are tanning for the full 20 minutes every 24 hours with all sorts of lotions.

Try ten minutes one time a week and see what happens. Start at like six minutes and build up.

It might be the sun you get at the beach that helps.

Right when I started training I got it bad, the doc gave me some gel stuff but it didn’t work very good, and was a total pain in the ass to put on. Tanning worked great for me too. I went once every 3 days or so for a month or two and it cleared right up, not to mention that it’s really relaxing, and, not to point out the obvious, tanning salons are generally packed with cute girls…I may have continued tanning after it cleared up for this exact reason.

I could give two shits if someone questioned my sexuality because I went tanning…I’m pretty sure the few cute co-eds I banged from the salon knew I was straight.

It might not be back acne, there is a condition called pityrosporum folliculitis that can pop up due to excessive sweat, tight clothing, and sort of follicular damage and is common among atheletes. It is not treatable with any of the common antibacterial stuff you use for acne as it is fungal. A dermatologist can do a biopsy to see whether it’s that and the only two ways of treating it are Antifungal tabs (Nizoral, Sporinox) or Isotrenine (Accutane). Topical stuff doesnt affect it at all.

A helpful way of diagnosing it is to have a good look before gym, they will be small with no redness around them. Check again after the gym if they look like they have a red area around them then it’s probably that.

My back acne cleared up a lot on the anabolic diet.

Tanning beds don’t actually clear up acne. Only the actual sun has the right type of light to dry up that stubborn acne.

OP, take no advice from these street dermatologists. See a specialist.

Oh, and it’s “acne,” goddamnit. Backne, chestne, assne, dickne… it’s acne.

Nicely done! The only thing is, I have a girlfriend so I can’t bang the chicks at the tanning salon to let them know I’m straight, lol.

I’m in the sun all summer with bbq’s and whatnot. It only clears up when I’m at the beach and in the ocean.

LOL, priceless.

Yeah the only thing about seeing a specialist is finding the time, and even if I do I hear a lot of the stuff they give does not work. My doctor (not a specialist, but my family doctor) actually prescribed some antibiotics around a year or so ago for me to take every day and they didn’t do a damn thing.

I’m going to get my girlfriend to check my back before/after exercise, read up on accutane to see if it’s something I want to get into and then go from there. If all else fails, I WILL hit up the tanning bed. Thanks for all the helpful responses.

Im guessing that u drink lots of milk???

If this is the case, stop drinking milk straight away and let me know in 1 month if it has cleared up.i bet it will.

pm me if u have more q’s

Haha, kneene.

Maybe calfne, armne, and neckne.

Does the sun and accutane and all that only clear up the acne after a cycle or can it hide it completely during a cycle?
Also wondering if it comes back when you stop doing all these things, on cycle or off.

just go see a doctor and get a prescription. its really not hard. i had some bad acne for a while and i went to see a doctor and the shit he gave me cleared up my skin in a couple weeks although i still get pimples from time to time, especially on my chin, its nothing compared to how it was.

also, things like vitamin E and fish oil should help as well, but seriously go see a doc dude, thats what theyre there for.
