I have read on here that many of the older body builders back in the early 70s and mid to late 60s would use Dbol primarily along with Anavar or something like that with out an injectable test ester how would these guys maintain their gains on mostly Orals ? Just wondering.

You know what else I’ve never understood is that nobody has ever said “I sold Arnold something” or “I bought steroids from Arnold” or “Arnold and I talked about using this drug.” Is nobody alive now that knows what actually went down, what was used, in what amounts? It’s like all the AAS info from that era has been wiped from people’s memories.
Honestly, I think the comradship of those days is so unbreakable among those guys that they’d never openly throw those things out in the open. The only people that likely sold anything to Arnold were other competitors; but if I had to bet on who Arnold sold anything to, I’d say Mike Katz since he went through a broke period when Arnold helped him buy bodybuilding “supplements.”

That is the most important point. In all walks of life there are groups. Also interesting to point out that all the Mr. O’s at that period where good friends with Arnold. While the ones who complained the most where not from around there (Mentzer, Ferrigno).
We will never know for sure who was doing what and by what amounts. However Talking with friend’s who are Pro’s in the USA, the consensus is that they used much less than people think. For that matter today’s pro’s also use much less than people think.
But to the OP to say that they only used var, and dbol is not founded on research. Test, deca, winny and later primo where used by many. There’s even speculation as to when really test was synthesized since non clinical trials where conducted many years before, but the problem was with the half-lives of testosterone.

Kind of refreshing to see that every once and a while. No one lining up to betray loyalty just for a scrap of notoriety. Too bad more people cant follow suite.
