So Ive recently had some bloodwork and noticed my B12 is borderline low, prolly due to the demand for RBC production. My value came in at 303, with a range of 200-900 or so. So my question is will B12 shots stimulate more RBC production or will it simply be available for the production of RBCs. I ask because I most certainly dont want to add more fuel to the creation of RBCs in a short period of time. I know I need to up my B12, since I dont want to find myself in a depleted state. Thanks. This is a subject which I’ve never researched therefore I need some insight on how this would work along with TRT. Thanks.
It can.
Weird, I wouldn’t do it if you do it, only do a small amount. I did one 1 ml a week. For a few months and I think that’s the reason my hematocrit shot up to 54 from 46.5, I also was drinking energy drinks one every day and didn’t realize some had 500% your daily intake. If anything I should have done only about 1/4/th of a cc a week and with an insulin syringe. On my trough my vitamin b12 was close to 1800.
It’s funny how a trt clinic will sell/ recommend b12 shots but then when your hematocrit shoots up they don’t know why and their first go to is reducing your test.
I asked for the B12 shots because I should have some on hand, it was never recommended. I will definitely try low dose instead of the higher dose. My request for it was due to me noticing that Im dipping into defiency territory so I want to bump it up a few ticks. Im starting to understand the mechanics behind my vitamin needs. Its been over a year since I started TRT and I dont take any supplements.
A lot of these TRT clinics aren’t operated by actual doctors or anyone with extensive medical knowledge, they are only good for filling the prescription.
An exceptional TRT doctor is going to cost you.
As usual were going off topic, Im a Doc basher too, lol, but interestingly enough, my GP called me today and said that I was borderline low on B12, and recommended I started to supplement with tablets. I told him I had B12 shots ready to go and he was happy to hear it. He also told me how much to supplement with and that he wanted to test again in a month. So Im gonna start today. My TRT doc is an actual MD, its why I chose him after doing my homework;)
Thanks man. I lowered my dose, and Im going to give the B12 some room to work with me.
