I can take it as well as I can dish it out, so it’s all smiles from here.
Hey, look on the bright side! At least you didn’t slop it up on the way down and uppercut yourself with the full force of your bodyweight.
I have the feeling I will get it next time, haha.
Training tonight. 282.5 for a double after doing several singles.
The enforced no meets has been a great time just to build. I’m nearing the end of a 21 week cycle.
Body weight isn’t terrible 128 today which is 2lbs over ideal but not a big deal since there are no meets this year. Having said that, the scale is kinder than my pants. I’ll be 56 this fall and amongst all the other shit things about aging is thickening through the waist. It’s like your internal organs head south with every other part of your body.
And… celebrating shark week I see!
Looking strong as always!
Dude I got your back…
…so that you can stab me…
No promises either way!
Quick follow-up to last week’s check-in: Satisfyingly easy PR of 90kg Axle Continental Clean & Press. This is the last week of this run-through of the Juggernaut Method, very tempted to try 95kg next week before I move on, just to have put more than my bodyweight from the floor overhead.
Okay, this won’t be overly impressive to many, but I got my first 400 lb deadlift today at 47 years old. Went up pretty easy!
Smooth as anything man.
Great work! Gives me hope for sure
It looks like you have a ton left in the tank.
400 pound DLs are always impressive.
Deadlift session from 31st July. Top single at 177.5kg and back off set of 152.5kg x 10. Still more in the tank

This might be the first year I’ve continued eating well past June 1. Continuing to lean out, although slowly. Weight is staying sub 210 and creeping closer to 200 (204 is low). Also managed to get strict press back to 135 (video) and Z squat to 3x265.
I know August is just over, but let’s all together celebrate this 200 kg / 440 lb x 8 trap bar deadlift pr of mine
