lol, for the record my gf is the maggot eater. I’m just the one who is hiding that fact from her.

Somewhere between 205 and 210.
Puff, snap, and Chushin…thank you for the kind words. Hopefully, I’ll have some kind of semi-regular progress to add to the thread.

So I’ve been thinking a lot about this and have decided that I need to figure out how to become more dedicated again. This is me three years ago, which I believe I’ve posted before. It’s not impressive by bodybuilder standards, but it represents a good deal of effort nonetheless.
Two years ago I met my current boyfriend and threw on a quick ten pounds, which interestingly enough is what he’s lost since meeting me, which puts him much leaner than he’s used to being and me - not.
I haven’t gained any weight in probably a good year now and I think I’m functionally stronger in many ways than I was then because I’m pushed to be more active generally. So I think my goal is to lean back out and see what I’ve got for muscle.
I’m setting my alarm for 5:15 tomorrow. I’ve been better over the past several months at taking the 5:30 wake up seriously, but by the time I drag around and goof off it often doesn’t leave me enough time to do more than give it (running, lifting) a halfhearted effort. My goal will be to give it a full hour five days a week and build from there.
I’m hoping to have a forward-progress report for the next check-in rather than a reverse-progress.

And Emily is still here, but she doesn’t talk lifting. So, yeah. It’s not Enation. Sigh.

She does lift, though, and runs consistently.
Nothing has changed since the last photo I posted somewhere of my shin development, but I am still here. I read lifting, don’t talk it. I’ve said many times that I will happily share running advice because I know how to make measurable gains there, but I seem to lift to maintain rather than build (and yes, I have tried).
Really poor pic from just now, showing nothing but that I am at least not a compete sham. Also that Hockey needs to clean his side of the bed.
We’re off to cut and stack firewood, so maybe I’ll have bigger shoulders to post tomorrow.
I have similar perspective on talking about lifting. I enjoy reading about it, however I don’t really view myself as qualified to talk about anything advanced.
Actually, thinking about it, it would be more accurate to say I don’t talk about it here. People ask me often in real life and I do talk about what I do for exercise and diet, as well as question anyone who is obviously doing good work. I was talking about both lifting and running at a party last night.
With fit or non-fit people? I try and avoid talking about fitness with non-fit people.
With anyone! If they’re beginners or just curious I educate as to what I do and how beneficial it is to me physically and emotionally. I’m a therapist at a family medical center, so it really is my job. But even when it’s not I love telling people about it - how easy it is to start just one thing, how the joy in it snowballs, etc.
When they’re fit I’m curious about what they do and how it goes. I just like sharing generally because it’s such a happy part of my life. Even when I’m not turning in stellar performance, I’m gaining incredible benefit from it.

You’re becoming another DebraD for me, someone who’s progress is an amazement and delight to watch.

About women here -
When new women put up a thread in the Figure Athlete or Powerful Women sections they hear crickets, maybe see a lot of views to their question but no replies, so they leave. Many of you guys will help if you see a thread by a woman in the Beginner’s section, but you either never look in the other forums or lurk them but are reluctant to help.
I understand that a lot of people come here to read articles, or they keep a log, and they don’t have the time or inclination to venture out of their logs, but most of the questions that come up are beginner questions that anybody here could answer.
Pay it forward once in awhile. /rant

I offer suggestions only rarely, but I never post in the Women’s forums as I assumed that those are for women only. I figured that if the women wanted input from men and women, they would post in the BSL forum. I think others may share my assumptions and that is why the women’s forums are so inactive, as it seems that the T-Nation community is fairly open to women (with the exception of a few misogynists).

X2! The visual differences in Spock’s progress pics from her recent cut have been crazy impressive!
My profile pic was taken late June and is about my leanest point during the cut (BW 178lbs). Been bulking since, and have seen really good progress on pretty much all my lifts, especially my deadlift. This photo was taken 2 weeks ago, BW in this pic is up about 6lbs from my profile pic. I’ve gained another 2lbs since then and feel like a horrible fatass, though there probably isn’t that much difference and I’m just being a turd.

Yeah, Aeyogi. I’d imagine most of the men here are thinking along those lines. I don’t know how to fix it. I will ask questions in any of the forums, but at first I wouldn’t have felt comfortable. There really isn’t enough vitality to either of the women’s forums to keep them both going. Maybe they should combine them. Or have a few paid people from Biotest respond to those orphan threads so people don’t come here and get zero response.
Update on the update. Doubled a 605 Saturday.

Thanks! I have a meet in October, so I probably won’t do a max lift until then, maybe a PR triple in the next 4 weeks ![]()
