but finally feeling at least semi-proficient is real nice. I’d bug you to work on your push press/jerk technique, but then you’ll lift too much.
I’ve starting thinking about running push press for a couple months as my leg drive is less than pathetic so it’s in definite need of improvement. You’re push press is without a doubt stronger than mine at the moment, 285 is very nice.
From a technicality standpoint, mine probably falls into the push/power jerk category. No pressout, ducking under the weight into a 1/8 squat at most.
Who needs pressing strength if i can just launch the weight then scamper underneath?

They’re actually easier behind the head than from the front rack for most people. More stable surface=more transfer of leg drive. I appreciate the compliment though!
As a man who met his wife at a yoga studio and still (kinda) likes to show off a little extra strength in front of the hot chick every now and then, I fully endorse this approach.
Shes pretty strong, squatted 125 (over her bodyweight) for a set of 12. However, she was remarking on how it looked like a lot of weight at 225. I had to stifle an excited giggle ![]()
My wife has made some good progress with a 170 back squat and 210 deadlift.
I would tell her that I won’t get her pregnant til she’s deadlifting 225, but she may not respond well to that sort of feedback.

I cannot do 100 straight pullups or 200 pushups. Alternated bwtween the two without rest till i get the numbers. Most of the sets were 5 pullups, 10 pushups.
This made me think of the pull-up scene in the new Baywatch movie. Thanks for the laugh.
