I think the fact that he was on the bigger guys property threatening him would’ve been reason enough to hit him. It’s hard to get away with a frist strike - impossible on camera, especially in the UK.
I prefer to hide the bodies, less hassle and paperwork.

Are there any cops in the UK or are they only the for show Bobbies in London? Too bad you can’t own guns in the UK. A 12 gauge with rock salt would of ended that problem pretty quickly.

The bearded guy DID end the problem. WITHOUT a gun. He knew exactly what he was doing, when to strike, and when to stand down. There’s something to be said about restraint and precision.
Your statement just shows what a non-levelheaded person would do: over-react and use excessive force.

Hit the nail on the head. There is no way I let that kid get that close to my face while he is acting like that. I think I would have created space at the very least until he pushed or took a swing at me. Shit tends go go bad very fast, this guy got lucky the kid didn’t have a hidden blade or something, at that range, no martial arts skill will prevent a quick stabbing or worse.

You’re right.
The black-belt has probably dealt with them before (from the look of things), maybe he just knew what to expect and how they act/react.

I’m sure it is along those lines. It is probably some punk kid in his neighborhood who he has had problems with before. Still I don’t trust people these days. I have bad luck, so I’d be the fuck who gets stabbed by some douchebag while waiting for him to make the first move. Doing the right thing doesn’t always lead to good results.

EDIT: The bearded guy waited too long. You don’t let somebody that’s threatening you like that get close enough to touch you without acting, especially if they’re on your property. I’d have drawn down on the fucker.
Wrong. There was a camera. You never throw the first punch. Words are just words. Throwing a punch (and that was a kid) over words will get your ass in jail.
He would make a great bouncer. Very level headed.[/quote]
I 1000000% disagree, YOU ALWAYS THROW THE FIRST PUNCH if you think it’s going to come to that on your own turf. ALWAYS. I’ll worry about the legal repercussions after I’ve kept myself and my family safe. You can take your chances on getting KTFO by that first lucky punch and have your house ransacked, wife raped, etc. Now if you are at a bar or out on the town, it is a different situation. But standing in the doorway to my own home, with wife and 8 year old inside, I’m not leaving anything to chance.
Like I said, I would have put my gun in the guy’s face after I called the cops, so no punches would have been thrown. If some douchebag prosecutor wants to send me up on charges for protecting me and mine, then so fucking be it.

I understand that you personally would resort to violence immediately, but this video kind of proves that you don’t need to do so immediately. Threatened with a weapon is enough of a reason to strike first, but a skinny runt making noise? It just makes you seem like an aggressive prick if you decide to put your “gun in the guy’s face” without any real justification.
Being so agressive will just make you look like the bad guy, even if morally correct. I personally would have struck as soon as the person pushed me - since that’s direct aggression and legally classified as assault. However, it’s clear that what that guy did was successful.

Agree. Standing in your own doorway changes the game. You have to end it fast and hard.

Agreed on all points. If some guy is standing on my door step raising hell like the punk in the video, at the very least, he is getting a gun barrel pointed in his face. Not saying I shoot the son of a bitch, but the guy gets a few seconds to consider whether I will or not.
I can’t believe some of the shit I’m reading. The skinny kid wasn’t just “making noise”. He was getting himself more pumped by the minute and was shoving the guy and poking him in the head. The guy’s level of self control is truly impressive and I’m glad it turned out the way it did for him, but the odds of it turning out like that for anyone on this board or elsewhere are really fucking slim.
Somebody gets that close to you while being that animated you don’t give them the chance to do anything but get punched in the fucking head until they’re no longer a threat. And the guy saying “well, the wing chun guy would’ve reacted quicker if the kid pulled a knife” shit, dude are kidding me?
This isn’t a fucking movie. If that kid pulled a knife we’d be talking about some fat guy protecting a door getting stabbed to death because he had his hands in his pockets. And for the record, I don’t think it was that fat guys house. It looked more like he was the door guy for an illegal card game or something.

You’re wrong. The villian was acting in a menacing manner, aggressively invading his personal space and making threats - both with words and with bodily movement. I don’t know about your country, but here you don’t have to wait to be hit. He would make a great bouncer? Wrong. He’d be an injured bouncer. To stand there with yourself completely open to a threat is just stupid and I don’t care how well you can fight. A 16 year old can land on the button or the temple and put you down. Does this mean he could haul off and crack his jaw? Probably not. I’m not advocating that. But protecting and preserving his immediate personal space is perfectly reasonable and legal given the actions of the villian. And it’s just plain smart.
I was wrong, it was his house. Straight up that guy let that shit go on for way too long. Also, British slang is some of the silliest shit I’ve ever heard. It’s like a parody of itself.
That guy had to be an expert in Billy Blanks Tae Bo, betcha he has the whole dvd collection.
Props to him for kicking that scumbags ass. As others have said my only critique is he waited too long to put him on his ass. And yes, he should have been dragged back to pick up the trash he turned over.
