Ever since you published your Jacked Athlete 31 series, I have adapted this methodology into any new program. 3 weeks performance focused training block followed by 1 week 4-way bodypart split. I can’t thank you enough for introducing us to such a simple but effective spin on the standard 4 week training block.
Lately, I’ve felt a little burnt out on performance based training and was looking to shift back into prioritizing bodybuilding more for awhile. I was curious if you’ve ever personally or had clients experiment with the inverse of JA 31. As in, 3 week blocks of a hypertrophy driven bodypart split followed by a performance week where you can have a nice mental break from thinking about the mind muscle connection and focus on explosive movements and technique and give the nervous system a nice recharge.
I’ve been considering trying something like this and thought I’d check-in and see if you 1. recommend it and if so 2. how you would set up that performance based week.
