You think evolution is based on rational thought? One crab turns into another kind of crab. Not so hard to believe. A 20 ton dinosaur turns into a bird…ehhhh losing me a little bit. A tadpole turn into a human being transcending species, genus, family, order class and phylum. That is totally beyond observation, experiment, and its really pushing rational thought a little. Geeze, whose to say that humans came after monkeys? Maybe long ago men started to turn into monkeys. Think about it. They have more hands, they’re stronger, and they’ve developed their very own insulating body hair covering…kinda trippy huh?

What Mak said.
The Christianity-fueled theory of creationism centers around the idea that humanity and Earth itself is some 2000 years old.
For someone at the college level studying in physics to not yet grasp how utterly ridiculous and FALSE this idea is given the sheer boatload of scientific evidence which has clearly proven this to be utter bollocks is…disturbing, to say the least.
What bothers me even more is the growing trend in the States and elsewhere in BANNING the teaching of evolution in public schools. The latter is IMO a very, very dangerous and treacherous road to undertake; to altogether reject the teaching of rational argument in favor of impossible-to-rationally-back-up (and arguably grossly out-dated) BELIEFS in this day and age to our youth is a MASSIVE regression.
And testimony to the fact that organized religion as we know it is about CONTROL and REPRESSION of the populace, NOT enlightenment and empowerment.
It is THAT which I fight against. It is THAT which people such as the girl starring in this thread fight against as well.
Believe what you will. But the second you try to force it down my throat AND simultaneously pass legislation which represses the teaching of rationality, you are in a world of shit with yours truly, and I will fight to expose you. I was forced through 10+ years of Catholic indoctrination in pubic schools in my neck of the woods, from primary school and straight through high school. That in itself is bad enough, but to now BAN the teaching of counter-theories (which easily disprove creationism as a valid answer to the origin of Earth and humanity) is akin to returning to the Middle Ages. I reject this. And so should ANYONE who believes in empowering the populace, not render them ignorant and gullible.
Agreed.
Christians have done so much evil in the last couple thousand years, you and I probably would have been executed 500 years ago if we disagreed with the church.
I say it’s payback time.

There’s nothing Christian about the things that these people did.

You should try and educate yourself on what it is that evolution is before spouting this shit. The timescale for dinosaurs becoming birds is extremely long, and the 20 ton dinosaurs (in case you didn’t notice) are extinct.

Evolution doesn’t work that way. We don’t evolve to be better by our standards (smarter, stronger, faster), we evolve to better survive and reproduce which may require us to be smaller and to devote less energy to our brain making us less intelligent.
There should be some requirement to actually study and prove you understand evolution before talking crap about it.

Actually, they were model Christians.

Nu uh. Where do you think they got the ones for the Jurassic park movies…dumbass.

If a Christian is a follower of Christ then no, they were not model Christians.
Edit:If a Christian is someone who says " I’m a Christian." Then I guess you could say that…maybe…sorta?

Its amazing how ones expectations can color ones perception.

I’m saying that by claiming monkeys are superior in some way and thus evolved from humans is ridiculous.
Lol at the jurassic park comment though.

I’m a little confused because by your own logic it would appear that monkey ARE better equipped to survive. Did you make a mistake in your typing?

Not yet. But, I suspect eventually you will have the numbers.

That it’s wrong. Evolution is no threat to my faith.

What the hell are you talking about?
First of all, nothing is “turning into” anything. Advantageous heritable traits are promoted through generations leading to greater and greater differences between animals and their ancestors. Over millions (or hundreds of millions) of years and changing conditions these changes can result in monumental differences.
“Transcending species, genus, family, order class and phylum”? You do know that those are artificial classifications created by humans, right?
All that means is that over millions of years, the animals evolved so drastically from their ancestors that we classify them completely differently. Why couldn’t tadpoles evolve into humans over hundreds of millions of years?
As for your monkey hypothesis (which is completely retarded); what did the humans that are evolving into monkeys evolve from?
And humans did not come “after” monkeys. Notice how monkeys are still around?
Humans are exactly as evolved as every other currently extant animal on the planet.
If you don’t believe in evolution, here’s a good question for you: why can’t we cure AIDS?
good point corey … i love these conversations…nothing puts a smile on my face faster than enlightening the enlightened haha

Youre kidding, right? My suggestion is for you to put down the physics books for a few weeks and brush up on your evolutionary biology. Your above post is so ripe with multiple misunderstandings regarding how natural selection and evolution in general transpires that I dont even know where to start in educating you on the matter.
I don`t mean to sound harsh BrownTrout but seriously, pick up some books and inform yourself on the matter before making a fool of yourself as you did above.
