@The_Myth I don’t think @unreal24278 meant anything but to be helpful in his posts. He may be young but his level of knowledge is amazing. He’s on trt because of long-standing medical conditions.

I get that, didn’t mean to be condescending or confrontational, sincere when I said I like his moxie.

Nothing but love here.

Listen, I’ve been overly dickish in the past. T-Nation has cured me of that.

I apologize, I was unaware you had previous difficulty with regard to excess and/or frequent alcohol consumption. If i’d’ve known you had previous issues I wouldn’t have made the recommendation of not drinking, as such a recommendation might seem innapropriate or ill mannered.

Yeet

No offence… but for a 55 y/O male a calcium score of 700 is pretty atrocious #winstrol. Do you have any familial history of hypercholesterolemia or premature death related to myocardial infarction

No worries. Part of recovery is being honest. I’m over the shame/

I’m 55, not sure if @rc53 is.

Whoops, he’s 53, in which case, a calcium score of 700 is even worse.

I went to the store. They didnt have cream of rice. I got another jug of protein powder and peanut butter powder. Anything else I can use other than cream of rice?

I started t4 only med 12/11. Developed shoulder pain. Did do the trick as hands were no longer cold. I stopped for 2 days and pain essentially went away. Started NP thyroid. Pain started again but less than when I was in t4 only. It’s been a week on the dissecated thyroid still have pain.
I think I will take lab and stop thyroid treatment. The shoulder pain is a nuisance. Thoughts?

I have energy. Bf about 16-17 percent. Fat is belly visceral. Really the only symptom I had was cold hands. In the summer no problem.

Perhaps you and @physioLojik are correct. Perhaps if I was truly hypothyroid I would not have such a reaction.
I know I posted this before but here’s my labs pre treatment.

Here’s a study

Maybe the medicine is making me hyper. Idk. Maybe it’s an adjustment period. But I think I waited long enough.

Plenty of studies that show hypothyroidism causes joint pain as well. But I did not have pre treatment

Hyperthyroidism comes with its own set of sides, I reckon if you were hyerthyroid you’d have another set of symptoms entirely. What’s you’re RHR? An easy way to calculate this is to find you’re pulse (I go for neck or wrist) and put on a stopwatch, found the amount of times you’re heart beats in 15 seconds and multiply by 4. Make sure you’ve been sitting and/or lying down for at least 5 mins before this test (and not after exercise as exercise temporarily can cause sympathetic nervous system dominance). For instance mine, as of this moment is 58bpm.

Heart rate variability also exists, various daily interactions and conditions will influence heart rate (social interaction, situations, weather, food eaten etc) so its best to measure first thing in the morning, every morning my HR is around 45-48BPM BUT when I stand up and walk around it’ll go to around 85-90 (more if I don’t use my beta blocker), and occasionally after exercise or after very large meals my HR will go fast if I don’t take beta blockers, however this usually resolves itself within an hour, still it makes me anxious so I take the beta blocker and thus just never have to deal with it. What increases my HR the most of all though is social interaction with people whom I don’t know well (anxiety).

Anyhow if you find you’re a healthy individual and previously you had a normal RHR but now it’s say consistently over 90BPM that could be a sign of hyperthyroidism. So is unexplained weight loss and muscle atrophy, tremors, sweating etc. Certain ailments such as graves disease can make one’s eyes look like they’re poking out of their head due to autoimmune response.

Have you been working out frequently? Its very possible you’ve just injured yourself, I actually JUST strained my shoulder, like yesterday.

If you’re worried about being hyperthyroid get a thyroid Pannel done

Am tying my shoulder pain directly to my thyroid treatment because when I stopped it for 2 days it essentially went away and returned, though less painful, when I restarted treatment with different medication.
I do not believe am hyper.

My rhr now is 73. Which is average. Plus I just did cardio 2-3 hours ago. And it’s interesting how you mentioned that hr can be elevated after exercise. Now I know why.. Wonder what the normal average time is for hr to return to normal.

In any event, I just need an opinion on if I am making the correct move in determining that I do not need treatment based on labs posted and my only symptom of cold hands during portion of a day which actually I guess can be unrelated to thyroid.

I can either continue to see if the pain alleviates or stop treatment again and see if pain goes away.

I am totally using this excuse for the reason my bench and OHP sucks!:stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye::rofl:

Grits…or any other fast digesting carb would work.

@alldayeveryday I like rice as next to no one has intolerances to it

I don’t know if it’s the same, but I cook rice and let it cool, use a scoop and put it on a cookie sheet, then freeze the balls. Once frozen you can throw them in a ziplock bag and take them out individually and throw them in the blender.

Might as well turn them into rice balls. Put beef and beans in the middle. Or even chopped up mushrooms.

Lol. I really think it’s the affect of the thyroid meds. I took the dose sublingual this morning. Will see if its better. Last Chance before I stop it.

I read some take sublingual and it helps with various symptoms and helps absorption issues.

I’ll find some cream of rice today. This morning I just used the protein powder and powdered peanut butter to make a shake and had a bowl of raisin bran with it. Had a great wo. Hopefully I can get my calorie intake high enough I can gain some weight.

Gerber baby cereal works, but it is pricey.
