I really wish he wasn’t banned. Those are some of the most entertaining threads I’ve seen. He warns against the dangers of Olympic lifting as much the dangers of steroids haha
There is an article on tnation called “old school” that has the leg routine…I tried to attach or copy the article here, sorry
I do like the routine, it’s not all that different from the one I do, but the OP is just begging to be lambasted with a post like this lol
I am trying to find where that routine is posted/directed to. Where IS it?
Sorry to be such a dunce here - but I got lost in all the posts.
Thanks in advance.

Replying to myself with this post because I don’t see a way to make a new post in this thread. What I believe to be the routine of interest in this thread (along with another and other stuff) is given in an article by Dr. Darden. It was done in Casey’s workout just before the 1971 AAU Mr. America Contest – and can be found at Old-School Muscle.
I like that story. I can’t squat anywhere near that with fresh legs and it sounds like this was a pseudo-widow maker with pre-exhausting exercises before it. Casey was a freak of nature, especially the kind of development he had at 19.
Being that in his workouts, Platz would do somewhere btwn 200 to 615 reps in the quad/ham portion of his workouts, I think what Dr Jones advocated with higher reps could easily be a valid point.
