I was pulled over a few years ago with my husband and son in the car in some small town in Illinois. The cop wouldn’t tell me why he pulled me over and made me get out of my car and into the front seat of his car. Then he told me that I hadn’t done anything wrong and shouldn’t worry because he just wanted to “chat.”
So, he’s sitting there asking me in his nicest rapist voice about what kind of music I like while I’m thinking, Hey, I’m about to die because this cop is going to shoot me when I bite his fucking dick off.
Next thing I know, the cop’s nice voice goes away and he yells “Get the fuck out of my car bitch!” I scramble out of the car and he speeds away with the passenger door of his cruiser still open.
My husband had pulled our video camera out and was standing at the back of our car taping everything. If cops have such a big problem with being taped in public that’s because they know damn well what they’re doing is wrong.

I think it is bullshit. I was pulled over two weeks ago. The crime? Driving at night at 2am. This was apparently a “suspicious time of night” for me to be out…so the cop comes at me with his hand on his gun to pull me over.
Cops in general have abused any power they’ve been given to the point that I have little sympathy here. I am still against all of these cops driving around Houston in UNMARKED police cars that have no indication visible that they are even cops when they go to flash their lights at people. That should be against the law.
I keep a video camera on me and in some of these situations, video is the only thing keeping you from being screwed by some of those guys.
Wait what do you plan on doing with that camera? Unless you have that thing running 24/7 I doubt you’d have enough time to set it up.
I have 2 or 3 different cameras. One I keep in my bag when on my bike and it takes all of a few seconds to get it out.
Think about it though, if this guy didn’t have a camera on him, this would not be4 getting the publicity that it is…which is why cops hate cameras on civilians…because NOW they get watched as well.
I’m all for having cameras rolling when the police get involved. In fact I plan on installing one of those security cameras that go into the dome light on my next car. What I’m saying is where I’m from that camera would come up missing or destroyed mysteriously if you just whipped it out when the cop came to your window.

Just curious was this in Northern or Southern Illinois?

How do the cops react X when they see Dr on your Drivers License?
A drivers license doesn’t have Dr. on it…unless it is different for DDS/MD and PhDs

It’s not on my driver’s license (didn’t know it could be), but I do tell them and they ALL think I am lying. They usually don’t, however, treat me like that last guy did. He was an asshole. They usually ask (sarcastically) for proof.

I thought you had that option in Texas to have MD on your DL. If not could have been a thing in the past that they changed.
I mean, I’m military and cops used to respect that a little…but not now.
Damn right they don’t, I’m still upset over the cop that shot that unarmed air force police officer. They had him on video shooting this kid at point blank range while the kid is unarmed and on the floor telling the cop that he is a military cop and he’s on his side. But I think he got suspended with pay for like a year then the charges were dismissed so I’m sure that officer learned his lesson. The shit they get away with is sickening.
Where did you find it?? It was ALL over the internet for a while then it disappeared. Figured the FBI put a gag on it or something crazy
Wow. I just watched this video. That was disturbing. The cop told him to get up and then shot him. He should be in jail.
Okay looked up online, with the application you have a place for suffix. So you could put MD, I had doc friends back in Corpus who had it on there DL’s. Most were residents so they were at that time frame of being proud of the MD.
For the last few years I was running security for a family of bars up here in Edmonton and one of the things I insisted on was as much video coverage as I could get. As far as I’m concerned my staff didn’t do anything wrong and I put a lot of time and effort into training and supervising to ensure that was the case so when something did happen, particularely if someone was hurt, I wanted as much video tape of the incident as possible.
Having that evidence saved us more than a few times when a group would start making up lies about what we did when removing their friend from teh bar, amazing how quickly that would stop when we showed one or two of them, or the police, the video tape.
With the current price of technology, particularely the affordabilty of storage there’s no reason that every police vehicle shouldn’t have 360 degree camera coverage at all times so that when an incident does occur you know damn well it was filmed. I’ve been thinking of spending a few bucks to do install some recording equipment in my car.
For $100 it doesn’t take much to click the pen when shit starts going down and make sure that I audibly describe everything that’s occuring in case it’s not on camera.
Video footage is great, if you’re a good cop/security guard/bouncer doing your job correctly and well then it’s always on your side. If you’re not then it’ll help to protect the people that you were supposed to be protecting.
I mean, I’m military and cops used to respect that a little…but not now.
at the 3min mark when he looks back can you see the trooper car? He seemed to pull over to the side a little before the unmarked cop cut him off.
Not defending the unmarked cops action, what he did was messed up.

I have no objections to unmarked cars, and it is ridiculous to put all cops in one corrupt pot.
you have no idea how many cops up here in NY have pulled people over for speeding in the middle of the night and found drug runners. its not that uncommon. Also, most people fleeing the scene of a crime are more likely to speed and drive erraticly, so unmarked cars have even more of an advantage here, as a suspect is less likely to identify the officer’s car as a threat.
And screwed? Screwed for what? Unless you’re doing something wrong, if an officer pulls you over for “nothing” as you mentioned above, you won’t get a ticket. Just be polite and say yes sir!

you might not get a ticket, but you might get shot in the arm, back and leg like that MP did! Fuck that. What if you’re like Ryan Moats and you want to witness the last moments on earth of a beloved relative but the cop is intentionally detaining you to be a prick? Fuck that I say.
