I have a pic or two of me and my mom (she’s from Glasgow) I’ll dig up.
Thats awesome, where abouts was she from if you know?
She lived in the Gorbals and was apparently born on the Rotten Row (that sounds like it’s made up doesn’t it?) but she lives in Canada with my dad now.
My aunts still live in Glasgow, when I go I stay in Castlemilk.

There’s an HP Lovecraft one like it that I wish I’d bought last time I was in Glasgow.
This one? Still got that bad boy wrapped in the plastic. One of these days I’ll give it a read through, as I’ve read different collections with all the stories in them.
And I think when comparing Conan from the movie to Khal vs Comparing Conan from the Books to Khal you have a point. What i mean is, after reading a couple of the Conan portrayals by Mr. Howard, I din’t get that brute-solve everything with your fists barbarian-attitude that Arnold shows on the screen. I slowly switched my train of thought about Conan (from the books) into exactly what you described. Might be just my biased attitude though honestly because when I was younger (I’m talking like 12yrs old lol) I only watched the Conan movies for the pure unadulterated violence. That’s just kind of how I remember it.
That’s a beautifil looking Lovecraft book, not the one I saw, but yours was only 20 bucks! Nice!
I’m sorry if I came on strong about Conan’s characterization. I mean I have been known to correct people about thinking Captain Kirk just punched Klingons and banged green Orion slave girls in every epsiode of STar Trek too.

Has Stallone made a quality film after Rocky I?
I sure think so.
Nighthawks and First Blood are the best that came after Rocky…but in terms of quality, I would include Rocky 4, Cliffhanger, Copland and Rambo 4.
I take it you don’t like Stallone?
TANGO AND CASH??!?!?!?!!!?
Cliffhanger was good at the time but it hasn’t aged well. T&C is timeless.
Tango & Cash was more fun than quality, I think. Cliffhanger was much more epic…the part that hasn’t aged well imo is some of the ice caves and closeup landscapes that were clearly a stage. But I remember not expecting much and being surprised at how good it was. The girl falling at the beginning was scary.

Yeah it wasn’t bad and never pretended to be anything more than it was. Plus you can’t go wrong with Kurt Russell.

Agreed, #1 and the last one were the best

Yes, and ripping dude’s throat out was awesome as well. So many great parts to that movie. First time I saw it I think I held my breath for the entire last half hour.

I totally agree as well. Rambo 2 and 3 were a completely different kind of movie that turned a fleshed out character into a shallow action figure. Number 3 was almost as bad as Commando.
Rambo 4 took it back to reality. I also like how he went in with the mercenaries and how the mission became a team effort. It’s almost as if Stallone acknowledged what could have been improved with the previous movies.
The 50 cal sawing through the truck with troops was just so intense!

Rambo 4 took it back to reality and the 50 cal gun fight at the end added a full star rating to the movie. I also like how he went in with the mercenaries and how the mission became a team effort. It’s almost as if Stallone acknowledged what could have been improved with the previous movies.

Well I was in HS during the time he was coming out with 2 and 3, it was kind of the times we were in then.
Got to give Sly credit for writing it for the times.
