Arnold Amateur Competition

Neither do I, the modern aspect of bodybuilding is one of the few things I hate in the sport, Kovacs was a good example of why this constant spotlight on the competitors should stop, it screws up people.

Holy shit, I hadn’t heard a thing about Antoine since he had longer hair and insane gyno. He sure made some insane progress. I didn’t even know he was still in the game. Awesome.

I’m really looking forward to seeing how Alexsey looks on stage. Just so monstrous.

You guys are crazy, Alexsey looks unreal! Flow be damned, his chest is so freaky. And his waist is pretty trim too.

Agreed…which is the problem.
Professor X wrote:
I’ll come right out and say it…he looks like someone who started steroids way too early and relied on them for most of his size. I tend to see the same problems with balance in similar individuals and I really think it is because they grow so fast they can’t keep track of issues like that…which is why his chest is so freaking huge it looks strange.

His entire body is like that…which is a far cry from guys like Kai who were well over 225lbs on stage before going that route in the first place. The muscle just looks different.
How can you make a serious post like this, you’ve got to be kidding.

I really don’t think you have any idea what you’re talking about in regards to AAS and you typically play this card when someone young has extreme development. You really think no successful IFFB pro started steroids as a teen? Ok…

Kai Greene 225 on stage as a natty? That just reeks of lawlz. If you honest to god believe that someone of average height can come in condition @ 225 lbs on stage when the ENTIRE HISTORY OF NATURAL BODYBUILDING has shown different, I don’t even know what to say to that. Sorry but that’s not gonna happen. I’m also glad you know exactly when he started AAS.

I really wish you wouldn’t even make these speculations because it makes you look silly.

Now, this is the part where you address absolutely nothing I wrote and ramble.

Take away point here? Alexey Lesukov (white) apparently started taking steroids too early and looks disproportionate/weird. Kai Greene (black) weighed 225 at natural contests.

Typical.

Typical? I could care less when Kai Greene exactly started using steroids. I am not close to him and I doubt that is public info. What I do know is that guy was huge in high school before he ever got truly serious about bodybuilding or even thinking about competing.

Yes, Alex looks strange. I am not even the only person here who has said so. Other posters even commented on his “plastic” appearance.

Whether you blame his genetics or the fact that he started using at 14, it doesn’t look quite right.

If that bothers you, fuck it.

I guess if you believe that there’s a higher density of androgen receptors in the chest/delts/traps then you could make an argument that early AAS use could cause disproportionate development. But then you could make a similar argument with guys that have great quad sweep, because the vastus lateralis site is often used and they may benefit from fascia stretching or localised growth.

Seems like a tenuous position to me, and I think I agree with Way on this one.

? This has nothing to do with androgen receptors. It has to do with growing so fast because of steroids WHILE BUILDING THAT INITIAL BASE OF MASS that the body parts don’t flow as well. Why would you even go into that line of thought? Why would androgen receptors be the cause of disproportion? That is either a cause of genetics or how the muscle was built to start with. If some guy blows up and gains 50lbs of muscle in a few months, chances are he will have far less of an opportunity to truly judge how proportionate he is as opposed to some guy who grew that much over two years or more.

You can agree with whoever you wish but at least understand the freaking argument first.

If you expect me to understand your argument, perhaps you could put one forward. You have made the following claim: early steroid use leads to disproportional development. You proposed no mechanism for this or explanation for why it might be true, which is why I suggested that perhaps you were referring to the density of androgen receptors.

Now your claim is that disproportional development is due to someone blowing up over a few months. But if that is the case, how is that relevant to someone who started using steroids early and has continued to use them for years?

So before you start attacking people who understand AAS use better than you do, you might want to get your own ideas straight in your head.

I’m sorry, but I attacked you now? When the living fuck did that happen? From what I can tell, Waylander wrote that type of response to me, not the other way around.

Further, how do you know how much I know?

Yes, this guy is built strangely. Yes, I commented on how the field has changed and being on full blast like that from age 14 to 40 in competitive bodybuilding today is likely a bad idea.

No one was even discussing “androgen receptors” and if you wanted to understand my position more clearly, then fucking ASK instead of assuming.

I made an observation based on the last fucking 15-20 years of being around weight lifters in some form. I don’t even give a shit about someone disagreeing with me, but for waylander to attack me and then for you to claim I did it to you is fucking stupid.

No one insulted you. No one attacked you. You, however, have assumed quite a bit including my own knowledge base.

wow! i remember antoine valliant being that “jacked” guy in the vpx ads when i was like 16 and read mens health magazines. he is a monster now haha jeez.

Hahaha nice find.

I really like this guy’s lines.

Don’t follow bodybuilding at all, but this pic is fucking insane. Looks like a 12 year old’s wearing a muscle suit. That is crazy impressive.
Professor X wrote:

Lol come on man.

Valliant is going places.

What on earth are you talking about.

Why would the speed someone grows at affect their ability to discern their lagging or overdeveloped body parts? Do the eyes work in slow motion or something? Does he not have a mirror to look at every day/week/month? Is he relying on someone taking pictures of him and waiting to develop the pictures to assess his development?

What on earth are you talking about?

“Chances are” ? “Truly judge” ? How many qualifiers are you going to add to this asinine post. Youre too young to be going senile; something is wrong here.

Why wouldn’t it? Why wouldn’t someone growing super fast at an unnatural rate right out the gate affect proportion to some degree?

You are acting like this is impossible and make no sense when that isn’t the case.

I don’t have a fucking crystal ball and can’t know every detail about this man. I made a fucking observation…and frankly, if this alone causes you and waylander to attack like this both of you can kiss my ass.

No one was even taking this into the realm of personal attacks until you two showed up…AGAIN.

Also, it is fucking hilarious how many people have pointed out in this thread how strange this guy looks but for some reason, there is a need to attack me for noticing it and stating I had seen similar before.

Alex looks weird. He is impressively built, but he looks fucking strange. How many others have said the same thing?

Now, other people, other than me, have called him “strange”, stated he looked like plastic, and said he looked like a 12 year old boy in a muscle suit…so acting like I need to be singled out shows some real dumbass reasoning.

People have postedthat his chest looked a bit weird/big but, that picture was taken after a chest workout, could be a great pump, the other pictures were not posted. I think he looks great, he will do some damage.

I think it’s hilarious that YOU and others are actually arguing that because he has a baby face and apparently tiny wrists, all his growth is due to steroids.

God forbid he have small joints! I mean after all, that’s a hall mark of a great bodybuilder isn’t it?

You are a doctor, right? So you know that androgens in steroids will cause masculinzing effects to some degree even in males, correct? So using his young looks to make a point about this is once again, hysterical.

You can go ahead and admit now that you’re just upset that someone so young at that level makes you feel insecure and we can end the argument.
