Pretty good summary here of how the dialogue has unfolded following the shooting. I was quick to discount any influence that palin’s rhetoric would have had on this kid, and I still think it was a nonfactor. However, it doesn’t help her when an aid agrees with an interviewer who suggested they were “surveyors symbols.” Don’t act like people are stupid.

edit: now that paul krugman has weighed in we can put this all to rest.

since that’s a bad krugman article i’ll also post a good one, however unrelated. might be thread worthy for those of us living in texas.

It’s funny how the left changes its tune depending on what they want. When it comes to promoting basically R rated filth on TV with a large degree of violence thrown in they say it’s freedom of speech. You right wingers are overly sensitive. But now for some reason everyone on the right has to tone it down because there are crazy people who take things too far. I don’t think I have ever agreed with you more ZEB. The left or “Liberal” mindset is that more speech is better, even if it’s inciteful or otherwise untasteful. They constantly push for more skin, violence, language etc… in movies, TV radio.

Conservatives have always sought to keep things the old way. Fighting for less skin, tamer language, less violence on TV, radio, movies ETC…

So now, Liberals are saying what exactly? We can’t talk about things that are important to us? 60% of the country is sick of thier shit and they want to label us fringe because some batshit crazy guy shoots a blue dog, a conservative judge and a 9 year old amongst others?
