Arginine-Supplement Side ?

Today I figured I’d try a new supplement, without giving it too much of a thought or looking into it obviously at all…
And the supplement would be one called “GH Stack, made by Force sports nutritions”.
The supplement label says that you should take 3 pills on an empty stomach.
They include:
L-Argininpyroglutamate-L-lysine 1200mg
Niasin 150mg
Piperin 6mg
(on top of those the product includes;
dikalciumfosfat, mikrokristallin cellulose, niasin vit.B3, stearin acid, magnesiumstearat, povidon)…

So I took one dose, after getting from work, having an empty stomach…
And after about 10 minutes I began feeling a strange tingeling/burning sensation on my upperbody… it lasted for over 20 minutes, as I drove home…
At home, I saw myself in the mirror, and my whole f*cking face and most of my upperbody was all red (looked like a bad sunburn)… As I’m writing this, my skin begins to feel normal and is pretty much back to it’s normal colour…
So I guess I’ll be throwing the supplement away… But I’m curious, has anyone experienced anything like this? What could cause it, maybe an allergic effect?

Well, atleast this taught me a lesson of not buying supplements without reading into it more… Thanks for any thoughts.

That’s not the arginine, it’s the niacin. It’s known precisely for that (giving your skin that red flush). It’s completely harmless, but most people do find it unpleasant.

You probably wouldn’t have had the same reaction to the niacin if you had started at one pill and worked your way up over the course of a few days, then again maybe you would have.

Supplements like this are designed to make you feel something so you think it’s working. Niacin is one of the most common ingredients for this. Of course it doesn’t really do anything.
