Not according to the governing body.
Do you know the precise wording? I would be interested. I watch as much top level track and field that I can get.
“In the years since the controversy, Richardson has rededicated herself to the sport, winning the 100 meter title at the 2023 World Athletics Championships in Budapest, Hungary, which earned her the title of fastest woman in the world.”
Do you even Sliding Filament Theory???
I still say @T3hPwnisher squats of 40-50reps or more, even his deadlifts lower reps intensity is the definition of effectiveness!!!
You will need to add the other stuff like training TUT in the bottom/top or partials and hip belt etc to be optimal in specific areas of whatever game your into.
But doing what he does works every fiber in the body and is most optimal for the effective base one can get and it’s very basic, just pure hard work, full ROM. No thinking involved for greatest results.
Here I am the narcissist, not telling you I’m the poster figure for a training method but T3 is.
I have no skin in this.
Even?
If you are asking, am I referencing the sliding filament, yes. The myosin heads attach to the actin, and only around resting length can the most attach. Since the force IS from the actin-myosin attachments, the more that attach, the more force that fiber generates. So at resting length, we find the most actual muscle force possible. (even if due to joint angles the external force isn’t the highest, the muscle force is indeed the most).

Granted they both ran 10.65 seconds.
Jackson did it first in 07 July 23
Richardson did it next in 21 Aug 23.
Both are tied for first.
Now who won the 100 meters in the World Championship when both of them ran? Any fair-minded person would call Richardson the fastest woman in the world. That has been the case for as many years as I have watched track and field. The World Championships or the Olympics has always determined the fastest person in the world.
If we are splitting hairs, Jackson ran her 10.65 with a 1.0 tail wind. Richardson ran her 10.65 against a 0.2 head wind. The wind speed is m/sec. Both are wind legal or they would not have made the list. Times are never adjusted for wind speed for records.
Flojo set the 100m record at the trials. Had she lost the Olympics to someone who ran a slower time, would her record have been invalidated? Would she not have been considered the fastest woman ever?
Oh yes, and I’m sure the hip belt partials were responsible for ALL their strength and development! ![]()
Obviously, her world record is her world record, and the standing World Record. A world record is not invalidated by a loss in the finals. Her 10:49 is the fastest time ever and is often referred to as the fastest woman ever, and never questioned.
The interesting question would be, “Had Flo Joyner lost the Olympic final in the 100 meter, would she have not owned the title of fastest woman in the world that year (1988)?”
As you know college football is expanding the number of teams in their Playoffs. IMO, the Playoffs were started to determine a single best team in the nation each year, and avoid disputed or shared title #1 rankings at the end of the year. They chose a top four team tournament to determine the best college football team. IMO, this made for a relatively sound method of determining the title of best team in the nation that year.
The NCAA Basketball Tournament is over 64 teams. IMO, this is nothing more than a tournament, the best college basketball team could very well not even make it to the Final Four.
This year college football is expanding their Playoff to 12 teams. It is much more likely that the winner of the CFB Playoffs will not be the best team in the nation. Now the question: In the final college poll rankings, will the #1 ranked team always be the CFB Playoff winner.
The Richardson/Jackson “dispute” (there really isn’t one) is much clearer. While they both ran the fastest time in the 100 meter in 2023, it can be said that the winner in World Championship is on the greatest stage. That head-to-head win is an ultimate tie breaker of any dispute of the fastest woman in the world.
Time is time, regardless of place.
I believe Sha’carri did lose some races in 2023. Are the women who beat her therefore faster?
They were that day. Ask any track and field athlete what race they most want to win, and they will all say either the Olympics or the World Championships (and the Diamond League Championship.)
It might be better to understand running and competitive running in particular. Those who believe that they have a chance to win on the biggest stage are running all the races that year trying to peak for the big one. Richardson did exactly that in 2023, and not so much in 2024. The last thing they want is to peak before the Championships.
I did likewise in competitive bodybuilding. I usually competed three times a year, but only peaked for my focused contest, usually a national level contest. The other two were “tune-ups.”
Genetics is an example of Kaz first seeing weights and pressing is BW overhead at a young age.
And Kaz really wasn’t a great athlete I mean he didn’t get anywhere in the football career, his pro wrestling was horrible.
He could throw via Highland Games and lift, that’s it.
Other lifters with poor genetics as young kids lifted every chance they got and became specimens before adults. Marvin Eder is a great example. There are others that didn’t become athletes but they became well built early from being obsessed with weights young.
I think the relevant issue is that Richardson finished 1st at the USA Olympic Trials for the 2020(2021?) Tokyo games.
Then SOMEBODY decided that she should be off the team!
And BAM, no olympics despite being as fast as any woman around.
I will only buy this if you drop “poor” in your description of their genetics.
Every person with poor genetics for building muscle is lucky to even look like they lift weights, much, much less likely to become a “specimen.”
Many bodybuilders began their journey because they were puny kids that got sand kicked in their face.
Lou obviously had genetics though but he wasn’t a great athlete, didn’t he try out for the Raiders?
That kinda debunks the thought that the best bodybuilders are athletes. Arnold didn’t seem to be very athletic either?
Sergio might of been an athlete and he was better bodybuilder than Arnold.
There you go.
I’ve never seen someone paint with such a big brush before.
No, one person doesn’t debunk anything. There’s honestly so much wrong with assumptions you make, I’m not sure where to start.
That somewhat describes me, but I never got bullied.
This has more nuance than a pure correlation. But harp on if you like.
This is purely opinion. My opinion on the two. Sergio had the best proportions by a large margin. But Sergio was very lacking in distinct muscle separation, which Arnold had in spades. Both were the best physiques of their day, by a large margin. It is a comparison that has gone on for as long as I can recall. I lean toward muscle separation.
