Try IM and see if the same thing happens. It goes both ways, some guys are better on IM for no apparent reason, they just are.
You need to put your balls on a training program. Visit some of the biohacking sites, specifically the ones for increasing T. It’s amazing what you can convince those buggers to put out.
I’ve just heard of there being a 3/8" needle, but that I suppose would only be for subq.
Are you suggesting giving up trt and try the natural approach again? Havent even really given it a good chance yet although if I keep getting these nasty side effects I’d rather stay off. Lol.
Wouldn’t that be for someone who isn’t already on TRT, as they have better function of LH. And also dependent on the type of hypogonadism someone is having. I have tried many, many different things naturally and lead a very healthy lifestyle and followed suggestions from in numerous people on how to keep test levels high naturally, but nothing worked for me better then TRT, with everything in the right place my total T levels were at their peak was only 391 naturally, now I run over 1000 with TRT and my protocol.
Well, this is complicated (of course).
First understand that I am 65+ years old. My T level (total) over a year ago was 301 out of a reference range of 193.0-740.0 (ng/dL). This is after losing 60+ pounds, following a serious lifting regimen along with low carb dieting and intermittent fasting. The other day I had a woman at the gym who is roughly the age of my daughter comment “You have the body of a 25 year old.” Frankly, I had not seen my abs since I was in my 20’s, but now they are well-defined. At the end of the day, it’s your abs that everyone looks at. If they can be seen you are the Alpha Male to other men and you are the desirable male to the ladies.
But I digress. Let’s get back to your T-issue. What is the status of your NPT? I have concluded that the best indicator of T-level is NPT. Every, and I mean every, morning I am awakened by it, sometimes in the middle of the night. When you are young you don’t really notice it until you wake up. I had not seen it for years, but once I lost weight, concentrated on increasing T with biohacking, they returned. Now I look forward to it, like a signal that all is good.
Keep in mind that TRT is unnatural and your balls will remain lazy if you keep it up. That said, if your system has a genetic flaw then that will indeed be your only option.
Forgive me for i am a little stunned, what is NPT? lol. I am guessing you are referring to morning erections am i correct? In that case i do not wake up with morning erections, maybe once in a while (couple times a month at most) and even then sometimes i go for months without one.
I am not really concerned with my appearance physically, a 6 pack doesnt mean much to me. Being healthy and strong for the rest of my life is what i seek. Being desirable to the ladies is great but when you cant get it up for them then you run into some issues.
Take my GF for example she doesnt think im attracted to her anymore and that causes alot i mean alot of fights especially since we have been together for over 12 years. She has been really good about it but when it goes on for years… well i think you know what might end up happening.
Also being clear headed and energetic would be a bonus too. I understand that trt is not natural and honestly wish i didnt have to take it to feel better.
Also to clarify, I sleep 7-9 hours a day eat quite healthy especially over the last 6 months i exercise 4-6 days a week: HIIT, tabata, heavy weights, cardio etc, and has done nothing for my ED or Libido. Its quite frustrating for me considering my libido was off the charts high, borderline sex addict lol which isnt good either but went from one extreme to another.
Im glad that its working out for you naturally especially considering your age, and maybe i havent tried hard enough to bring it up naturally but i feel like i have to do something that will actually be effective.
than again if i continue having side effects like this i might not have a choice in the matter.
thanks for all your opinions and comments guys!
Yes, NPT is the medical term for morning wood and I have concluded that it is the indicator of male hormonal balance. All I know is that I used to wake up with wood as you describe “a couple times a month at most” and after I lost weight and started biohacking my T-levels it is an every morning thing, like I was twenty-something. Now I am thinking that it is not just your T production, but hormonal balance overall. The fact that your TRT supplementation has not restored your NPT signals that (at least to me). Also, libido is tied into this as well and the fact that yours used to be healthy says something about the overall system. Something ain’t right, obviously, and it will take some work to determine what it is.
Good luck with the process, at least you have the TRT to keep things steady.
LOL. Morning wood is a yardstick that a lot of guys like to use on here. It isn’t that significant. I had it with low T, I’ve had dry spells with everything in the upper range. Eating right and exercising help just about everything. And trust me, having abs just means that you’re skinny, it doesn’t make anybody an “Alpha Male” or any other such nonsense. I don’t have a six pack, but I am the easily the big dude at the gym that the other guys copy.
Every man is different: age, metabolism, genetics–you have to find the right balance and I am just convinced that NPT is the indicator on the scale. It isn’t just for T, although T is included. It speaks to the entire brain-endocrine system balance–or at least that’s my opinion. Also, morning wood is just the endgame of NPT. You may not be having dry spells at all and for all you know your wood is gone by the time you wake up.
I will admit that huge guns and traps will draw attention away from flabby abs.
Insulin syringes come in like 4 different sizes. I like the 5/16" for sub q. I believe they come in 1/4" 5/16" 1/2" 5/8" and possibly one or two more in there between 1/4 and 5/8
In all honesty I havent been on trt for very long only 3 weeks also it was broken up for a two and a half weeks in between so that wouldnt be a long enough period to determine that it is not working for me.
I do agree that it could be a bunch of things maybe it isn’t just testosterone but this is what I’m here to find out i guess.
This is the one reason why men continue to have problems, like undiagnosed thyroid problems and/or iron deficiency.
As far as the thyroid problems go, I have a few questions about that, is iodine and selenium supplements a good start to counter the problem?
With hypothyroidism your body temperature is reduced typically as one of the symptoms right? Well I know that my body temp runs hot always while awake anyways and for some reason my TSH is 3.57 I know there is more to it then TSH but I was told by my doctor that it is normal and will fluctuate alot throughout the day. So honestly dont have a clue what to do about that. Lol.
Most doctors determine normal status by ranges alone, TSH 2.5> is indicating a problem and most people have a TSH <2.5 closer to 1.0. The ranges are not the word of god, sometimes people have hypothyroidism with normal body temps and normal labs, not everyone will have the same symptoms.
Most doctors cannot see passed the reference range, it’s how they are taught in medical school.
The evidence for a narrower thyrotropin reference range
It has become clear that previously accepted reference ranges are no longer valid as a result of both the development of more highly sensitive TSH assays and the appreciation that reference populations previously considered normal were contaminated with individuals with various degrees of thyroid dysfunction that served to increase mean TSH levels for the group.
more than 95% of normal individuals have TSH levels below 2.5 mU/liter. The remainder with higher values are outliers, most of whom are likely to have underlying Hashimoto thyroiditis.
Reference ranges for TSH and thyroid hormones
Though TSH remains the most commonly used endocrine test in clinical practice, the issue of an appropriate TSH, and to a lesser extent, free T4 and free T3 reference ranges is still under debate. First of all the distribution of TSH reference range is not normal, with median values (also depending on population iodine intake) usually between 1-1.5 mU/L.
According to these studies, you are nowhere close to normal. It seems like TRT and thyroid treatments are the most difficult to get prescribe, have ED or depression and drugs are offered without much resistance at all.
You have bad thyroid or testosterone numbers, “you’re normal” and “in range”, it can’t be thyroid or testosterone related… There is clearly a conceded effort to keep people off bio-identical hormone therapy, sick care doesn’t provide cures, they allow disease to strike and then offer treatment.
TRT and thyroid treatments prevent disease, this is why it’s so hard to get treatment.
Well that kind of sucks than, so what is an effective treatment, iodine/selenium?
Aslo I know I went against your guys’s advice but since Thursday I have not taken an injection and thurs/fri I still felt like shit with headaches and my heartrate was really high around 87-96bpm throughout the day.
Normally my resting heartrate is lower around 46-50 bpm. I know that is considered low and average is about 60bpm but I’ve always been that low.
Also still noticing a tight feeling in my head and neck.
Today (Saturday)I feel more like myself again, I am planning on staring IM today and see what happens.
But If it continues i guess I’ll have to stop.
I expect your thyroid numbers to worsen on TRT because TRT is stepping on the metabolic gas petal and will bring your thyroid to it’s knees. I wouldn’t be at all surprised if TSH increased on TRT do to the added demand. You need to seek private care for your TRT and thyroid, the sick care system will keep you in a diseased state and never really offering you optimal health.
My GP recently told me my potassium numbers looked good as it has been abnormally low for several weeks, potassium was 3.5 (ranges 3.5-5.0) and still have every symptoms in the book and realized my GP has no knowledge beyond in range is normal, there was no critical thought to suggest that maybe I needed potassium a little higher to see symptoms improve.
So you see it’s all about the numbers and if you numbers meet the sick care’s definition of normal, you’re always going to be in a poor state of health.
Ok should I then stop trt for now until my thyroid is under control?
I just did a IM injection like 5 mins ago lol, I used a 27g 1/2 inch needle although it didnt feel like it was IM felt more like subq? Did it on my right quad, hopefully it reached the muscle.
Your body still needs testosterone, just take action now and get your thyroid assessed by someone who can offer treatment that isn’t blinded by reference ranges. You really won’t be able to dial-in your TRT protocol until you do optimize your thyroid, good thyroid hormones are needed for TRT work.
Ok I will see what I can do.
Just an update on IM injection I did earlier today, I have not noticed any side effects yet. Been feeling great, actually better after I took the injection.
I dont know what it was over the last few days, with all those symptoms i was experiencing and I was even sweating like crazy and around my eyes which never happens, I’m not really much of sweater either. Unless physically exerted of course.
Maybe my body doesnt like subq I dont know. Lol.
