As bodybuilders, powerlifters, and gym rats. I like to think we are a little bit smarter then the general population and apparently, the government. The drug war has cost this country billions of dollars and has done absolutely nothing to stop illegal drug use. Performance enhancing drugs are banned leaving people seeking some “assistance” in the gym, or on the track field as dangerous criminals when these are in fact usually the most intelligent and civilized people in a room.
Getting a prescription for dangerous anti depressants and opiate based pain killers is a fucking joke. Something like a 150 million prescriptions given out a year for anti depressants alone, but if you want to shoot some test or smoke a doobie (drugs that are proven to be much safer and that actually fucking help) you will go to jail. I do not use AAS nor am I an avid pot smoker. I am a college student in need of a little extra cash and finding a decent job is hard as it is.
Saturday night I enjoyed a few tokes out of a bong (first time in 6 months) with a few buddies only to get a call from the local home depot offering me a job on Monday. I had to take a drug test. I was not able to get the job. Now what really pisses me off is that while I am a productive member of society, lift 6 days a week and throw an 85 mph fastbool for my college baseball team, and hold down a 3.6 GPA in a state university I was refused because I tested positive for marijuana.
Meanwhile some addict that smoked meth, did coke, or shot some heroin (drugs that are far more dangerous then a fucking plant you can grow in your kitchen) on the same night as me would of tested negative on Tuesday. These drug laws and drug test are not only archaic but plain retarded and stupidity such as this should not be condoned by the people of the greatest nation of the world. Good day.
My eyeballs just fell out of my fucking head reading your post.
I don’t use unleaded gas anymore. I mean, what kid of trashy peson does that?
TL;DR
moar formatting and paragraphs

Not my cup of tea. Besides AAS and natural psychedelics such as marijuana, shrooms, etc. I am not interested in any other drugs. I am probably the only college sophomore that has never drank alcohol.
Here’s a graphic which illustrates the lack of correlation between the estimated harm of drugs and their (UK) classification: File:UK Suggested drug classification.png - Wikipedia
When people speak out about the lack of common sense in drug laws, they are usually shouted down and abused by the media, like Professor David Nutt was. But thankfully AAS are legal for personal use here.
EDIT
Although after the Raoul Moat saga I was waking up in cold sweats after nightmares where steroids were banned.

I’m a law student. I wrote a paper comparing this study to our federal drug laws. Controlled Substances Act is essentially codified stereotypes with little to no scientific data supporting the classifications of drugs. Look at the DEA website and their reasoning for banning mj as a medical use it directly contradicts the classification of cocaine.
So your inability to follow simple directions, to wit- “Don’t smoke dope before a drug test” means that there is a problem with drug laws?
How about this?- You blew your own opportunity AND there is a very clear bias in drug laws.
Now for a lesson that they don’t teach in college- Take responsibility for your own actions and move on.
LOL WTF - you’d like to think that powerlifters, bodybuilders and gyms rats are smarter than the general population?..yeah in lifting and eating right…it goes about that far…going to the gym has nothing to do with being smarter than the general population…there’s a lot of fuckin idiots lifting weights too you know lol.

Im not complaining about my luck, I was pointing out how irrational these drug laws are. I obviously wouldn’t smoke “dope” on purpose before a drug test. I could of basically done heroin, and various other hard drugs and had a serious health and mental issue and still got the job.
These laws are completely retarded and based on nothing but propaganda. If I was black or Mexican I would take deep offense to these laws as they are derived from propaganda against said races and are still in existence today.
Their is no reason why a plant that a 6 year old can grow should be illegal while various other substances that are far more dangerous are either legal or easily obtainable by doctors and deemed as “normal”.
AAS users must feel the same way. Getting locked up for swallowing some dbols pre workout while some guy who pops Valiums like skittles while driving home from work because his doctor prescribed it to him for “anxiety” is treated fairly is fucking unjust.
Oh, so you were going to start this thread anyways, because you are so sympathetic to the plight of others, huh?
Dude, as complex as you would like for it to seem, it is very simple.
You are crying over the internet because you fucked yourself out of a job. It really is very transparent.
As much as you would like to muster the troops and sympathy of all controlled substance users, that is what it comes down to.
Grow the fuck up.
Lifting six days a week and throwing an 85 mph slowball doesn’t make you a good worker. lrn2corporateworld

What he said, only less harsh.
The world isn’t fair bud. That sucks, but it’s life. You shouldn’t have mentioned your drug test, and it may have been a good discussion.
You make a valid point though. Sucks about the job, but if you want a job then you don’t smoke pot. That’s the world we live in unfortunately, so make your choice.

Neither does the inability to foresee likely outcomes of present actions.
“Hey guys! I just started filling out some job apps! Load up the hookah!”
translates to the workforce as
“Why do I need to do this shit? My manager is an asshole. What kind of idiot stocks shelves with Christmas decorations when it isn’t even Thanksgiving yet?”
Every bodys a tough guy on the interweb forums huh. End thread. and lol at 85mph slow ball .

It was the first time applying for a job and I didnt think you would have to take a marijuana test to work at home depot. I said marijuana and not drug test because it is the only popular drug they EVER find as most hard drugs have very short half lives. Like I said end thread since everyone is a tough guy on internet forums. I bet you comment on youtube vids and honk at people in your car too.
Why didn’t you just take a detox shake?

It is not so much the half life as it is the solubility. THC is fat soluble, therefore takes much longer to purge from your body.
I know that I come off as a blunt prick, but that is essentially what you will be coming up against when you enter the workforce.
Do you think a prospective employer gives a flying fuck about the origins and application of drug laws?
Do you think that someone who has to ensure the safety of others in a place of business gives a fuck about any of that either?
They don’t. They just don’t want to get sued. They cross their T’s and dot their I’s to do what is required to be in compliance with their insurance policies, and any number of other regulations that concern how they do business and with whom they do business.
Drug testing is often part of that.
Now if you do manage to get yourself a job, and have the fortune of working with a couple of chronic pot-heads who “aren’t hurting anybody” but manage to fuck something up that costs time, effort, money, and possibly even lives, you will know why.
Wow, did I get sent back into the 1950s? What’s with the “it’s the law, so you shouldn’t complain about it” mindset?
Edit: I understand that the businesses have to follow the law to the letter to prevent and legal issues, but seriously, the GAL forums are used for people to vent 90% of the time anyways, and he’s complaining about something that actually is an issue (something relatively harmless being illegal when far more dangerous things are allowed by law). Be nice to the guy now.
