AquaCruzer's Training Log

LRB

Thursday 8/23/12

2 ct Pause Bench
10x135
6x185
3x225
8x2x255

Overall benching felt good. I need to remember to touch lower on my chest. Doing so makes a difference. I could’ve kept on going but stopped at 8 sets. If given the choice, 3 good sessions would be preferred over 1 great and 2 subpar sessions.

Rear delt flies - 75 reps
BB curls - bar x 50 reps
Band pull aparts - 50 reps

Friday 8/24/12

Oly squat
10x135
6x185
5x225
3x275
3x3x315
3x2x330
3x1x345

Overall squats felt good, but not great. My left knee has been bothering me for the past few days, so considering that I’m happy with how squats went today.

Ab wheel - 3x10

Saturady 8/25/12

Bench press
10x135
6x185
6x225
5x6x235 —> was shooting for 6 sets, but after the 5th one I knew It would be a struggle and decided to reel it in to allow for a continuous string of good bench sessions.

Rear delt flies - 75 reps
BB curls - bar x 50 reps

Sunday 8/26/12

Deadlift
3x225
3x275
5x5x315

Abs were still sore from the ab wheel. Warm ups a little off so went with 5x5 @~70%. I’ll definitely keep pulling on the lighter side while keeping the reps a bit higher. I just to slowly get better at pulling.

Monday 8/27/12

CGBP
10x135
6x185
5x225
5x275 —> PR, missed the 6th rep which I shouldn’t have attempted
3x6x225

Overall felt pretty good. Had a decent-ish triceps pump.

Band pull aparts - 200 reps, these felt awesome due to the upper back pumpage
BB curls - 50 reps, maybe the triceps pumped helped with the major biceps pump

Dear lord, I can’t believe how much I used the word pump and its variations.

Wednesday 8/29/12

First time lifting at the campus gym in quite sometime. As expected it was crowded like Mumbai during rush hour.

Oly squat
6x135
6x185
3x225
3x275
6x3x315 —> pretty happy with getting 6 sets

Was expecting much today, so I was pleasantly ‘surprised’ to have a good squatting session.

Thursday 8/30/12

CGBP
Warm ups (135 —>225)
1x275
1x295
1x315 —> PR, this was such a long ass rep that my lower back cramped
3x5x225

Ideally, I would’ve liked to have just done a bunch of work in the 70-80% range, but it was late and I was tired so decided to see where my CGBP was at.

Beast mode is engaged. Poundstone EVERYTHING.

That was an awesome press, man. You literally chased that thing for 10 seconds. What’re you weighing?

Haha, thanks. Just under 225.

Damn dude, you’re pretty stocky. Wouldn’t have guessed you were that heavy. How tall are you?

5’10"

Saturday 9/1/12

Deadlift
Warm ups
4x3x335
4x3x355

Pulls felt good. I realized that the last time I pulled my hips were much too low, so as a result my hips were shooting up too fast. I managed to do a better job of keeping my hips higher to prevent my hips from shooting up, this definitely helped. Unfortunately my grip sucks. Maybe I need to chalk up or grip the bar better. But I’m thinking that my grip just sucks, so I need to somehow work on it.

Sunday 9/2/12

CGBP
Warm ups (135—>225)
5x3x255

Could’ve kept on going, but I’m trying to make it a habit of holding back a little bit so that I can have a string of good benching sessions. I’m thinking it’s more important to hold back more with my benching since I plan on benching more frequently. On the other hand, I can hold back slightly less when squatting and pulling since I’ll being squatting/pulling relatively less frequently.

Tuesday 9/4/12

Front raise - 25 x 100 reps

Was going to do band pull aparts, but my shoulders were too pumped/fatigued to keep my arms up.
