Good to see you getting on the olympic squat gain train. Is spring break as exciting as the internets makes it out to be? think im spending my break studying instead since we dont have such celebrations - ‘fml’
I would like to hit a 405 squat in the near-ish future. Well, I need all the brain cells so I’ll just be vegging out during the break. Plus I’ve to stuff to work on during the ‘break’.
I thought you did 405 ages ago. But since that’s not the case how about a little race? I’m at 386 at the moment.

Well a 405 oly squat haha.
Damn. I was finally hoping there was a race I could be involved in.

You can race me to a 405 squat if you’d like. You get a head-start because I don’t have a rack. challengeconsidered.jpg

Cool! Although I guess no rack makes comparison really difficult.

If that means you have to clean and jerk the weight in to place everytime before you can squat it, I’m so in.
Hot damn. The sum of pauses and more than 2 reps equals fml. On a positive note, benching finally feels normal again.

Pulls were decent. It sure makes a world of difference remembering to breath after each breath as opposed to trying to hold your breath for the entire set.
Glad I decided to stick to two exercises/session for the first week. I definitely need to get acclimated and most importantly not get so winded quickly.

It probably didn’t help that my back was still a little sore from block pulls.
Gahd deficit pulls really suck. I’m tempted to switch from a 4" deficit to a 2" deficit b/c the 2" deficit has less of a potential to mess with my pulling position/mechanics. But I think I’m more tempted to do so b/c a 4" deficit is harder. As long as I remember to not let my hips shoot up then the 4" deficit should work fine. So it goes w/o saying that I focused on not letting my hips shoot up too quickly.
So I so happened to look down at my shins and turns out today is the first time I’ve gotten them to bleed from pulling. lulz. It’s like my first PLing period.

These felt a little awkward. Lower back was still a bit tight, w/e. If I actually focus on staying really upright my abs get worked more, but if I get lazy my lower back tends to take the brunt of the work.
I don’t feel quite as winded as a few sessions ago. Either I’m getting used to the higher reps or it’s b/c I had no paused work, pulls, or maybe I’m getting better at breathing after each rep instead of holding my breath for the whole set.

Big gains in here recently, particularly jealous of that front squat. What I wouldn’t give for a 3plate front squat right now…
Haha thanks man, but I would hardly say there are big gains in here.
