Please listen to the above track on youtube.
It is a masterpiece, and a Jeff Beck signature track from one of my favorite discs, “Guitar Shop”.
I’ll like to sail on out through that one myself.
That whole disc is great. I saw Beck with Stevie Ray Vaughn on this tour, mind blowing.
Again, Vern was lucky to have a friend like you.

Yeah agreed. I saw them on the last concert before Stevie’s helicopter crashed and took his life. It was great, they were swapping headliner back and forth with no egos all week, and both played superb.
Thanks again for the kind words Testy.
I did go and talk further with the guy who had been with Vern, and found out some more details and would like to clear up a few discrepancies now.
Apparently he stood up and said, “That’s a trip” while wiping his forehead, like it was more of a cerebral event vs. the heart attack theory I had. Maybe a stroke or some kind of anuerism.
He fell facedown on the floor, and he was fighting for a little while, I guess the guy luckily had worked in the emergency room before and he knew what he was doing, and thus did cpr on the old boy. He came back once with eyes lit up and clear, and then two more times not quite so alert, and that was it after the third time.
One thing that was nice to hear was the fact that the witness told me he went out peacefully. He said he’d like to go like that himself which was comforting to know. Save for the slight “crash landing” when the chair with wheels slid out from under him. I’m sure he knew it was the big one, and wonder what things went through his mind in that instant and/or the first time he was brought back during the cpr attempts? Hate not having talked to him recently, but we never know when it’s time to go.
Anywho, I gotta find out about the funeral from the landlady today hopefully. Damn it was quite hard being at his home and seeing all the things/vehicles etc, that were his. I am holding my own though.
Thanks again for the comments and words of encouragement. It’s very helpful. Sure am gonna miss the old boy.
