The right of “peaceful enjoyment?”[/quote]
You didn’t know? It’s another one of those moral imperatives…
The only thing that makes sense is banning all flags. I would go wild if it was just our Flag. Of course,t he amount of sense it makes is very little. It should be banning all flags but the US flag, of course.

All flags or no flags, why should what a flag has on it matter?

Good question.
A better question is why people get so wrapped up in nationalistic symbols?
I don’t think any fuckin apartment complex manager can tell me what I can put on my car. If he wants to make the car payment, maybe I’d listen. But he’s not, so fuck him.
What a bizarre story.

What the fuck? Because it’s the flag of their country?
Between all the US, Mexican (and others), college team flags, Gay Pride flags, an apartment building parking lot can be rather colorful and loud. That is to say, rather ugly.
I am crossing my fingers that the next new tenant in this apartment building is Ted Nugent.

One more time- who gives a fuck? How many cars do you really see with flags flying all over the place? All I see is the occassional Puerto Rican or Mexican flag during soccer or around a big boxing match. That’s it.
And on top of that- this guy can’t legistlate that. It’s a car. Does he get to tell them what windshield wipers to use? What color car to have?

Apparently management cares. And, as long as they’re not requesting something that would require extraordinary measures, I don’t see how management is in the wrong, legally, either. Take it off, and when the lease runs out, move to a flag friendly apartment.

When I lived in California, I saw flags on cars all the time. But, to be fair, they were mostly Lakers flags.

Legally they don’t have the right to legislate what goes on someone’s car. There is no way that there is a legal precedent telling people what decals to put on their car.
For that matter- does that mean if you have a Mustang or a Charger- it can’t have pinstripes? Technically that’s a decal.

They can’t legislate anything given that its an apartment management company and not a legislature. However they do have the right to determine what goes on in the parking lot that they own. I would say that there is considerable precedent for such a thing given the amount planned communities nation-wide that have strict rules concerning the maintenance and appearance of residents’ yards and homes.
I’d be pissed about it, especially the way they handled informing residents, and I would consider moving, but I don’t think Oaks Apartments acted outside of its rights.

This is fact.
Private property. If your landlord tells you not to display thing X, you don’t display it or you move.

I can’t believe how anyone would ban the flying of the USA flag IN THE USA for any reason…PERIOD!
In California, we see more Mexican flags than USA. Nobody bitches about that…but fly your own countries flag,…different story. geez.
Fly the US flag; it’s their property, follow their rules or GTFO.
Put up a sign at your business saying “This is America, Please Speak English”; oh that mother fucker has no right putting shit like that up!
America = Ass Fucking Backwards
