Anytime's Come Back

this is getting old

I give up after this

Lol I hate technology also…i’ve never done it from my computer but if you have a smartphone its really easy

I’ll try in the morning with my wife from the smart phone, thanks Choobs, I’m gettin pissed off

If you’re on your phone

  1. click advanced
  2. attach video
  3. pick your vid
4)make sure and write something in the box or it doesn’t load
I wanna see this bench lol

Hopefully this works

Anyway you can’t see, and I shold have had a different angle, but I had 2 - 45s, 1 - 35, and 1 - 25 per side, so I believe thats 345. The weights I have at home are one 4 -45s, 4 - 35s, 2 - 25s, 4 - 10s, and a pair of 5s so on the deads I’m pretty much using all of them now. I could get anothet set of 45s sent from the gym, but since I know courts in April now, and I’ll either be back in my gym or in jail, I’m not going to bother, I’ll just get by. The bar’s bent, the bench is wobbly, my left elbow’s inflamed, and my shoulder’s are old, but I don’t do excuses  Latter

Beautiful

I’m glad I decided to take yesterday off from smolov squatting, even against my own judgment, I couldn’t even sit for more than 5min yesterday in a chair with my legs bent, because the pain under my knee cap, but today, after rest and lots of anti-inflams, and tylnol, it’s feeling almost back to normal, and by tomorrow should be 100%. I wanted to squat so bad yesterday, and I knew Chobbs would be front squatting his ass off  but I’m squatting everyother day on this smolov routine, and starting the first week off with a banged up knee would fuck me up, I expect to be feeling this way by the end, but not the first week. Anyway feeling better, and glad I went against my own best judgment. latter

Thursday Jan 30 smolov squat workout 2, 325x1x3

Front squat
135x5
155x5
185x5
205x5
225x5
Back squat
225x5
275x5
295x3
315x3
325x3

Thats it, smolov only called for one set of 325x3 thats all that was written for the day, the rest was up to you, I guess thay figure if your doing smolov, you know how to design your own workout. So I used fromt squats as my warm up, and it worked out well. I squatted in work boots today for the first time ever, I always squat in skate shoes or my puma’s both flat soled, but i found it easier to hit depth with the heel. I had to adjust my stance a little, and squat a little narrower, but I had alot more pop out of the hole, both on fronts and on back squats. I was suposed to do some military folowing the squatting, but ran out of time, and had to go get my dauther from the bus, so I’ll either get it tomorrow, or wait for Sat and just do my schedualed 531 Incline, whatever good little workout, and my knee felt like a million bucks. good times Latter

Reed, thanks for the encouragement, getting old sucks, but I’m not going down without a fight, arrh !

Oh everything above was done beltless today, thought I’d metion it, just felt rested, and didn’t feel like I needed it

AnytimeJake;

I compete at whatever weight class works; last May I competed in the 275 and then October I competed at 220. I’ll compete in whatever weight class I happen to be at this summer (probably 242).

I don’t think its a weight issue. I think its more due to of years of lifting, and not enough mobility/stretching. You also might be doing too much volume, but that’s up to you to decide. I’d work on trying to be able to lift pain free, and then start pushing up the weight.

Thanks bro, ya I’ve never had shoulder pain that was training related, but lately I’m just really tight, can’t hold a bar properly on my back when I squat, and it goes as far as when I shave now, I have to put aftershave on with the back of my hand, because I can’t touch my neck with the palm of my hand. I think I’v just got back into lifting fast, and the strength, and size has come rather quickly this time, I’ve put alot of muscle up around my upper back, and upper chest and shoulder’s realitivly fast, and now I’m feeling big and imobil.

I was just looking for a way, mabey a quick little routine I could do once and a while, that over time would remidy the problem. Thanks, and anyone else as well I’m open to sugestions

My whole plan from the get go, since comming back, was to get 1500lb total raw, and unequiped, then start running cycle’s (adding gear) and see if I can get some big raw number’s. My 10yr plan would idely be 1800, this sounds funny at this point in the game, but I’ve been around along time, and understand the power of - consistancy x hard work + time - Thats the formula for reaching your dreams by the way in case anyone was wondering. I’ve had the dream of being one of the strongest guys on earth, since I was a kid, but injuries, family, buisness, got in the way, along the way. I did use the same formula above to acomnplish everything else I have though out side of lifting.

I’m sucessful right now, have a great buisness, family and money in the bank because of a strong self belief, and the above formula, so back to my original topic. It’s taken me a little longer to reach 1500 than I had hoped, but I’m still on coarse to get there, and I’m not worried, as I’ve set everything aside in my life right now, and made this my 10yr goal, no hurry. I’m not some kid that thinks the minute I start taking steroids I’ll add 500lbs to my total. I’ve used juice in the past, and understand how it works and what works for me.

I don’t dream small, if your going to have a dream or a goal, might as well shoot for the star’s, because you’ll atleast make it to the clouds. I didn’t get back into heavy lifting / training to get a little stronger. I got back into lifting to put a big ass trophy on my mantle, and 1800 raw will give me at the very least a canadian master’s title. People laugh when I tell the my goal, but people lauged at me when I set out to open my own gym with no money in my pocket. Let them laugh. Let them get nowhere If I can get 1500 with a couple years of hard natural training, then I can get 1800 with a couple more years of un-natural training

What one man can do, another man can do !

You get up every day and either move forward or move backwards, I bet people laughed at Arnold, when at 18 he said he was going to be a great BBer, then a movie star, then the president, but he knew the formula - consistancy x hard work + time - and had a dream. Nobody has belief in themselves anymore. I work with these kids, and I don’t get it, they don’t believe they can acomplish anything, they don’t have self worth self belief, and they make fun of people that do. Imagine if I put this post on the open threads, people would start talking about genetic’s and age, and give me a bunch of excuses.

Because of hard work, and belief in myself, I’m at a point at 40 where my bank account is full, my fridge is full, and I don’t have to get up and go to work in the morning. It’s time to finish what I started, one step at a time, NO EXCUSES

Dream big or stay small !

Two thumbs way up

For sure man you are a very bright dude I know you’ll get there!

Good work. Hey a while back you posted a routine you used to break through a bench stall…I think it was a 2 day split. Mind sharing that again? I think it expired on the forum I couldn’t find it.

Friday Jan 31 No program today, just an upper body session, old school BBing type shit

Unsuported military -------- Ring pull-ups ( new fav )
MTx20------------mex5 slow and controlled with 10sec negative
95x10------------mex5
135x10---------mex5
135x10---------mex5
135x10---------mex5
135x9----------mex5
135x9----------mex5 + 120 sec hold, and painfully slow negative

French press+CG military---------DB curls ( the bar was hanging there from military, so did french press+CG military’s)
MTx20---------30sx20
95x10+5------30sx15
95x10+5------30sx15
95x10+5------30sx15

Db latteral / curl combo, back and forth adding reps togather - no setting the Dbs down
68 reps, I got 100 the other day, but I was fresh, these are my new favorite finisher, don’t have to decide between latterals, and curls

Quick little workout, got a pump in all the right places, and got the fuck out. Latter

Good work. Youll get there…cus u have the right attitude and work ethic.

As far as mobility just start stretching and hitting direct areas and see what the results are after 3 monthss.

Also a theory that doing the opposite movement of the one that made u tight in the first place.

I.e bench made me tight- maybe pendlay rows or bent over flys full r.o.m.

I remember the thread, but I can’t remember the title, so here you go. This is the program I found / stumbled across working towards a double BW bench a few years back. I got stuck at 365 for almost a full year. Thats hell, but this worked

Mon.
bench, rest pause, take your 3 rep max, and get 10reps with it, we’d go for 3x2, and 4x1, but any combination would probably work. the point ios to lay down on the bench, and not get up till you have 10 reps. Racking the bar and taking roughly 30sec rest between mini sets. If your doing it right this is really taxing, and you don’t need to do anymore after this, but warm up well.

Thur
bench - volume, wave training is what I did here, take your 10 rep max, and get 60-100 reps here. Waves make this quick, and easy  I like 6-4-2 waves, but there’s tons of wave variations out there. Lay down get 6 reps - 30 sec rest - 4 reps - 30sec rest - 2 reps - go get a drink. Get 5-8 waves. 6-4-2 gives you 12 reps, but if your feeling strong, and in a hurry 8-6-4 gives you 18 reps. You get the point, but it’s not about killing yourself here, just getting volume. The real works on Monday

I wouldn’t do a whole lot of other pushing work on this, mabey some light military, some latterals and push downs, just 10-20 stuff, plus some back and leg work, but bench should be your main focus. i was dealing with leg injuries at the time, so my focus was bench, some rows and some chis, that was pretty much it, but it worked well for me. Goodluck !

Thanks Anytime, appreciate it.
