Anyone Thought About Leaving the US?

Additionally Australia would be a horrible choice as China’s export driven economy won’t need the Aussies resources if no one is buying their products.

China can raise their RNB and start buying their own goods.

Europe is sick as a whole and baring the break up of the Eu will fall even farther and faster than the US.

As for me, I love my country, I served it once, and I won’t be running away regardless of how bad things get.
I believe the whole World , would rock . The global economy could collapse

In NZ and Australia you are facing a major crime problem, especially NZ, about every third of the 4million citizens has been to prison or involved in a crime. Jobs are available, but only short term. If you are a doctor you probably have to go back to school anyway, to do your doctor again, has something to do with standards and policies.
Besides that you still got a few nice places, which are mostly in remote areas, which are only nice, when you are a tourist.
Crime is specific areas like (surprise surprise) every other country in the world.

Having to redo Doctor registration is a load of shit, pretty much any degree from the USA/UK/Aus/Western Europe/Parts of Asia are valid here.

Jobs are also available long term. The idea of a temp job is fairly foreign to anyone not under 30.

Same goes for Australia, although they are a bunch of faggots.

I have to assume from your idiocy that the rest of your post is utter bullshit.

I don’t.

If the USA falls apart, almost every country worth living in (read: all the countries OP listed) will probably have a lot of fallout as well.

You can forget about getting into New Zealand. When the global economic downturn hit them their government adopted a policy of putting New Zealanders first. So they have stopped taking in immigrants, been revoking work visas and telling people who aren’t working they have to go home.
Even if I thought the US was “doomed”, I wouldn’t go to Hong Kong - it is within the sphere of influence of China, and that won’t be a good place to be should the Western superpower “collapse” (or simply be too weak to challenge China).

I haven’t seriously thought about leaving the US, but I wouldn’t rule it out if the standard of living continues to deteriorate in the way it has. But, I’m an optimist - I think we are going to see a correction, because too many sensible people who have a great stake in the continued success of the US (i.e., the middle class and both its present state of affairs and its expectations for their children) is about to clean out the Augean stables in Washington, DC.

The adults are getting serious about getting back into politics, and I believe that the Obama presidency will mark the nadir of the reign of such wild-eyed ideology in practical politics (in both parties). Common sense is coming back into style.
If the serious people of this country restore international convertibility of dollars to gold, that would go a long way to restoring this country. Set the price at some reasonabable price, like $10,000 per ounce, and a lot of good would happen.

I keep getting recruitment emails from the New Zealand government nearly pleading with me to move to their country and listing the incentives they’ll offer if I do so.

Colombia or Brazil for me, should something awful come to pass. However, as much as I see a big RESET coming with so many factors and their relationships becoming unsustainable here, I dont think leaving the country would help me any, just being prepared where I am at. Plus Im in miami, I dont feel like a US resident anymore anyways.

China is in way worse fiscal shape than you think. They have a trillion in cash but thats not even enough to cover the loans they have made that their various regional units are most likely going to default on.

China will have to manufacture internal demand and we all see how that turned out here.

LOL, i won’t take offense, just smile and chuckle at our sunshine and beaches, i am sure u will move over here soon as most of your countrymen are living here already, I do admitt to enjoying a good piss up up organised by New Zealanders, just got to leave before they all start fighting!

They can always unpeg when things get bad.
Can they just unpeg it and let the HKD do it’s own thing?

I really have no idea how that works.

They would unpeg and let the market decide how much it is worth, and Hong Kong is a strong economy I am sure it would do just fine.

Look how much china sends over here, if the people used that money to pay down their debts if they have any and then use that money wich will only get stronger as the dollar goes down hill to buy stuff they will be fine, their RNB is being surpressed a lot, if free market forces get ahold of it, it is going to skyrocket if value.

What do you do for a living? Doctor? Some kind of surgeon?

I think a good question at this point might be “is there anyplace in the entire world that a person can legally escape to?”

Is there anyplace left that isn’t being ruined by some sodding invasion from the Third World and that isn’t part of the dollar downfall domino effect?

Someplace where there’s peace? Jobs? Adequate health care that’s relatively out of reach of the ravages of liberals?

Can we come up with even one place like that?

Antarctica…(especially for someone named “Mr. Frost”).

It has all the peace, solitude, lack of Government Intervention and lack of liberals that one could ask for.

Health Care may be hard to come by…so take a knife, whiskey and some sutures with you.

The thing is, China is rich and is well positioned to start consuming its own production. As soon as they stop sending all their shit over here they will start buying it up themselves.

Nope, but if I were they’d probably be sending me flowers and muffin baskets daily trying to entice me to go.

From what I gather they’re in need of people from certain fields…IT being one of the biggest ones. I have lots of experience with medical devices and surgical equipment and that seems to be another field they’re looking to fill.

One thing us Kiwis know is how to have a fucking good piss up! I have actually considered the move to Australia, although that would be for career advancement more than anything else.

The Kiwis do love to have a good dust-up

The following video was taken in New Zealand’s finest bar with some of its most upscale citizens…

(Fun fact: The song starting at 2:04 is the most popular in the nation, and has been at the top of the charts for over 4 years now)
