There is no science behind “food combining” diets. Following either diet will yield the same results assuming the total calories and macronutrients are the same at the end of the day.
Besides, if you are eating solid food meals several times per day, there is bound to be some overlap between meals, meaning that any diet relying of the precise control of maconutrient ratios on a per-meal basis is a bunch of crap.
the bottom line is this: do whatever helps you control your calories with the least amount of effort on your part. this may mean sticking to the P+F / P+C rules or it may not.
