If she lifted in the APF she wouldn’t even have the TEXAS record for her weight class. But since she lifts in WABDL she is a 89-time state, national, intercontinental, world, and galactic champion!

Rebecca Roberts is a babe- just not in a real overt kinda way.
I never understood all the negative flap about Amanda Harris. True- she is not the phenom some may have made her out to be. But- she’s a lifter and that’s cool. She’s a 17 year female lifter- a rarity- and that’s even cooler. If she “hoochies it up” a little in some of these picture, what’s the harm? She’s a pretty 17 year-old girl that tries to get a little attention. If you think that’s all that scandalous- go hit the mall this summer or any beach town- you’ll see a million little chicks like her.
cheeta is hotter.

Is this “State the Obvious Day”?

It would be better for powerlifting imo if she competed in USAPL and really set some records. [/quote]
She couldn’t. Despite all her world records, she wouldn’t even come close to placing in IPF worlds.

I know her personally, and have known her since she was 12, and she is a very sweet, nice girl. I’m not sure why everyone loves to hate on her either (although I know a lot of people have problems with her dad). The fact that she has grown men on the Internet picking on her is fucking lame and pussy. She’s a friggin kid and a pretty girl powerlifter, just the kind of person we should run out of the sport right?
I hope when my daughter gets older she gets into training and competing also. I think that would be cool as hell.
She competes in APF, APA and WABDL that I know of to clarify.

Almost no one who has posted has talked “shit”. Unless you think stating facts and telling people your opinion of her as a lifter is talking shit.
No one is picking on her, shove your face in the spot light and then insult a whole bunch of people on a bodybuilding forum because they try to help you with your form and people are going to have opinions on you. Yes, even if your a 17 year old girl.
There is no harm in her going to photo shoots etc, if I was her I would. What was stated is that it is a little fucked up that her father is most likley setting up photo shoots to make money or get sponsors by having his 17 year old daughter dress up in skanky outfits to take photo’s that look like they belong on the cover of a playboy magazine. I could find a whole bunch of pictures to prove this if I gave a shit enough. What kind of dad would do that to his daughter? Or for that matter, let her do that?
Of course you want your daughter to be intrested in lifting, because you are. But having seen the pictures I have I really doubt you would have your daughter doing the same things amanda harris is. But then again your defending what amanda harris is doing, so who knows.
And finally, no one is trying to run anyone out of the sport. Like I said before, shove your face in the spot light, and people are gonna have opinions about you. You either deal with them and continue doing what your doing, conform, or you go no where in life.

If she just lifted and succeeded I doubt anybody would hate on her. But when you pronounce yourself champion this and world record holder that, then your asking for it. Even more so if you are not competing in top federations. I don’t think anybody would say a word if her lifting did all her talking.
On the other hand, if they aren’t saying anything bad about you then your doing something wrong.

Truth. It is almost ALWAYS true that the ones making the most noise, and working the hardest on self promotion are the ones with the least to shout about.
I’ve always been of the opinion that if you’re doing something special then people will talk about you without you having to shout out for attention.

True.
Look up Julia Zaugolova, anyone going 280-170-150 as a 67.5-75kg woman in single ply is impressive. Hopefully she’ll put a good meet together at IPF Worlds and total +700.
Rebecca Roberts is hot.

I love how she keeps going back for a few more hits of ammonia.
PS- If anyone doesn’t know, she keeps a great log over at EliteFTS.

I lifted in a meet with her a couple years ago in SC. I think I missed a couple squat warmups cause I was too busy watching hers- know what I mean?
