ECG post
Hi, so I had an ECG done on September 11th which came back normal.
I had one done September 30th which came back with Early Repolarization.
I had both ECGs done because the Bupropion I’m prescribed has been causing skipping heart beats. My doctor thinks I most likely have inattentive ADHD (IE I’m not hyperactive but a lot of trouble with focus & motivation).
The doctor wanted to do ECGs before switching me to an amphetamine - Vyvanse.
I have been prescribed TRT for 7 years. I’m 46 years old.
I normally take 80mg of test cypionate per week, no problems.
On 22nd August I started a mild cycle of 250mg test cypionate per week - my first cycle since 2002!
I’d previously taken testosterone, nandrolone, winstrol and trenbolone. All with very few side effects. The last as said in 2002.
So first ECG - 20 days into the 250mg cypionate - normal ECG.
I then stopped this cycle because of work commitments - I resumed my normal 40mg twice a week on Monday September 26th and Friday 30th.
The ECG on 30th September showed the Early Repolarization.
Wikipedia does say testosterone seems to be a factor in Repolarization.
Do any of you know about this, experienced it on or off cycle?
My understanding is benign Repolarization is shown by a certain set of ECG numbers & harmful Repolarization another set.
I will be speaking to my doctor tomorrow & asking for a cardiologist & a 24 hour at home ECG.
The early repolarization pattern on electrocardiography in usually always a benign incidental, however if you have family history of sudden cardiac death, or idiopathic ventricular fibrillation, further investigation is warranted.
It wouldn’t hurt to take a deeper dive into this, better to be safe than sorry!
Then you have ADD and not ADHD and in people with ADD, the dopamine is low and that is a reason for the depression and inattention.
Testosterone increases the release of dopamine, so make sure your Free T levels are high enough to get the most benefits.
This medicine cause me hyperseuality and brain fuction was always full throttle, having ADHD, this wasn’t desirable for me.
I did had an afternoon crash in energy everyday, once while I was swimming in the ocean and barely made it back to shore.
In the end TRT cured me of my ADHD because T has a calming effect.
Fortunately there’s no family history of sudden cardiac death, or idiopathic ventricular fibrillation. The only history is my dad at 72 had a minor heart attack which required a stent. He’s now 77 and very fit.
Ah yes ADD. 80mg testosterone cypionate uhas me at 80% of the Free T range. 96mg has me at 90%.
I will ask my TRT doc about going back to 96mg.
TRT on its own won’t be enough though - I’m very low mood & motivation without a stimulant. This really stops me functioning in day to day life.
Bupropion has been very positive on my quality of life and career.
Damn crashing in the ocean is scary! What dose of Vyvanse did you take and did you try other ADHD meds?
What dose of TRT do you take & what’re your Free T levels on that? Thanks
I even had scuba fins and still had issues, thank god there wasn’t a rip current that day. Starting Vyvanse dose was 30 mg and I worked my way up to 70 mg.
I didn’t really notice much difference at all between 30-70 mg. I’m very sensitive to stimulants, alcohol and caffeine.
I tried just about everything there was on the market at the time, even Strattera but the side effects were pretty bad. I tend to get a lot of side effects on medicines because of Gilbert’s syndrome, where my liver doesn’t get rid of certain compounds (bilirubin, which is a breakdown of red blood cells) very well, so they tend to linger in the body longer.
The Vyvanse made me pretty high functioning, very productive. I just needed to find something to calm me down to fix my ADHD, high testosterone does that for me.
If you take a group of men that have optimal testosterone, they’re still going to have varying degrees of motivation and mood. I’m naturally high energy and elevated positive energy.
I don’t need alcohol to relax because I’m naturally high on happiness and highly motivated or all in or not at all type mentality.
I also have Tourette Syndrome which hard-wires my brain for high energy, now without symptoms and I’m left with high mental and physical energy/stamina that would leave most men jealous!
I recently tested my levels as early as last week, Jatenzo puts my Total T at 1052 ng/dL and Free T at 33.6 ng/dL calculated (7.0 - 36.7 ng/dL) and SHBG at 17 nmol/L.
My peak levels at 2 hours are higher, lab were drawn at 4 hours after morning dose.
