How does one go about getting the seeds from the plant? Do the seeds grow much liek a sunflower plant? or is it more a matter of extracting the seeds from the plant itself?
Ive successfully turned my studio apt into a flax farm. I have flax growing in the bathtub, both bathroom and kitchen sink, hardwood floors, and i keep all my empty jugs of Metabolic Drive and Grow to grow flax in as well.
Some people say i’m excessive, but you’ve never had real flax seeds until you grow your own. I swear i gain an extra lean lb per week because i’m using non subsidized, oxidized, and pesticized flax seeds.
it’s great.
yeop.
Wait, now this was a serious post. The flax flower is actually a nice looking flower. Yes, I like to garden and such.

IL cazzo, how would you extract the oils?

The very least he could simply take the seeds and throw them into a coffee grinder, that could be enough to make the oil available for digestion.
If he actually wanted to excract the oil he could use, eh, i’m not sure? i can’t think of anyway of doing it without making the oil unfit for consumption. You could use boiling hot water, or any oil that you wouldnt mind consuming with the flax oil.

If anything, I’d just use the seeds as I do now…I grind them. You get the omega 3’s and fiber.
I mean, it’s a nice looking plant, so I dont care either way, but I figured, if I could get the seeds from it, fuck it, I’ll do it.
Sorry, I meant strange thread, mainly going off consumers posts, but I suppose funny.
Anyway its obviously fine to grind them and eat them before they oxidise. I was just thinking you were in it for bottling the oil for some reason.

Buy a press like they use for olive? Finely grind it, then heat it until seperation? Super-critical extraction? What the hell do they use for those little buggers?

Harvesting probably isn’t worth the effort. On an unrelated note, poppies are nice looking flowers too.

etaco, for health benefits flax oil extraction has to done without the presence of oxygen, light or heat. That method wouldnt work. The little buggers are good for all soughts of health reasons similar to fish. Do a search, especially on omega 3’s.
