Why do you ask?
I have been thinking of which system to get. The Wii gets annoying after a while. I can’t see playing any traditional games on the system. Wii sports are fun though.
The 360 is kick ass (neglecting the hardware failures)in terms of content. I was considering getting one till I read about the folding@home stuff the PS3 can do.
For anyone unaware of F@H, its a program that works in conjunction with Standford to do research on protein folding to better understand diseases like Alzheimer’s and cancer. I was planning on building a quadcore computer to only do analysis, but I realized that for the price, the PS3 is an excellent deal…
- You get a BlueRay DVD player.
- You can run F@H 24/7 on a system that takes only 200 watts (with a quad taking 260+ watts). This translates to abotu 90 bucks a year on your electricity bills.
- It plays games. Although I’m NOT a sony man by any means (I miss sega, tear), I’d rather buy a system that would benefit mankind, lol. Plus its cheaper than building a comparable computer.
Otherwise, if you don’t want to do F@H, get a 360, more games and better content from what I’ve seen…
If you do FPS, get a computer. They suck on consoles. Anyone who’s playing the UT3 or Crysis demos know what I am talking about…

UT3 with the mouse and keyboard for ps3 is amazing FYI.
DMC4 is superb, finished on human,~halfway on devil hunter.
