Anyone Ever Do This to Help with Binging?

Strange thing to say.

I used to have that time, and many of my friends cook almost all their meals. So…

It’s just that at the moment, I have, at best, 2 hours of leisure time throughout the entire day because i’m working towards a big goal. Once i’m done with that, I can relax (for a bit)… and will probably go back to cooking all my meals again. Right now, i’d rather spend those 2 hours on something other than cooking.

I find it hard to believe that everyone else is also working 12-13 hours a day (save on sundays) constantly. I guarantee that the majority of people who say that they “don’t have the time to cook” would be able to find the time to cook two (or three) solid meals (nothing fancy) a day unless they have to work literally all day long as I unfortunately do right now.

Amazingly - people suck at managing their time.

I eat them… the next day.

I grew up eating a healthy diet, yet still had problems with binging. It might be something i’ll have to fight for the rest of my life, because no matter what diet i’m on; if i’m presented with something hyper-palatable, I will devour it.

…Except for years 6-9 of my life, when I developed a phobia of swallowing (after I almost choked on a candy), had to chew food 1000 times to get it down and at some point, even had to “chew” milk before swallowing it. Became anorexic and once that shit was over, I ate normally most of the time but every once in a while, binged like a fucking elephant

I tend to do that

I’m truly not picking a fight or saying you’re not busy, but you have to admit all the below looks funny when I pick out the quotes I want.

I work a lot and don’t cook as much as I probably should, either, so I get it. I obviously find time to spend on this site, so I can’t say I’m completely overwhelmed. Cooking/ meal prepping definitely makes calorie control easier, but there’s certainly ways to make it work when I choose not to prioritize that time as well.

Absolutely nailed it.

I don’t have time to cook: that’s why I have a week’s worth of work lunches, snacks, and late night meals in my fridge and a menu board on my pantry that already has dinner laid out for the week. I also have a bunch of ready to go yogurt mix-ins in my pantry, and before I go to bed my breakfast is laid out and ready for me.

My wife has all of her breakfasts and lunches ready for this week as well. We made them together on Sunday. We both work, neither of us have time to cook, and neither of us has time to sit and watch a tub of ice cream melt out of pure willpower.

I don’t get it. Why go through the exercise of watching them all night and not eating them just to eat them the next day? You are setting yourself up for failure. Why not find a way of eating that sets you up for success? This makes zero sense to me.

Again, why? It sounds to me like you have an issue with food/eating in general and would be best served speaking with someone about it not going on a forum for advise that you seem to have an excuse not to accept.

Yeah, for example dates are delicious and way less calories than a cheesecake. Have a few if youre craving sugar it helps.
