Anyone Else Suddenly Start Being Religious After 30?

I had to. That is how I am put together. If I find a conflict or contradiction, why is any of it truth. I have searched for contradictions.

How do you reconcile the notion of monotheism with a triune diety? Isn’t that a contradiction in your view? How could Jesus be “100% God and 100% man”

I would agree, but from my perspective it is not the word of God.

Romans 3:1-2, “What advantage then hath the Jew? or what profit is there of circumcision? Much every way: chiefly, because that unto them were committed the oracles of God.”

1 John 5:7, “For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.”

I am not asked to understand in terms common to man, only to believe.

You’re right. I’d rather flip through tik tok and Facebook for hours on end

Really it just sounds like Nihilism.

In the Catholic church it’s literally referred to as “the mystery of faith.”

The issue is the catholic church used the argument from contingency for hundreds of years while saying God became contingent. I will never understand how people can deal with that dissonance. Jews don’t believe a man can be God, Jesus himself said he was the Messiah, which Muslims believe he is. Jews rejected him as the Messiah, but even in their beleif system the Messiah isn’t a God.

The trinity doesn’t appear in the theological discussions of Christ until well over 100 years after Jesus and his followers.

Its why sarcasm is so prevalent in society. Caring is lame. No wonder society is in such a bleak state.

I’ve always thought it arrogant of us to think we can fully comprehend God, both believers and non believers. During a homily a priest once said humans understand God the same way an earthworm understands a human.

Sure I totally get that attitude, but if we are to believe any religion, it has to be coherent or God punishing those who reject the message would be unjust. And that is illogical that God would be unjust.

Monotheism is a natural impulse in humans. Belief in man Gods isn’t and to punish a man for not believing a man was God seems irreconcilable with a loving just God.

Mind perception of God in Japanese children - PubMed.

This study shows even in socieites with pagan, non theistic and animalistic religions, their children have an innate belief in a singular God.

I don’t disagree.

I think of non believers who when the cards are really down pray. I guess people could write it off at paranoia, but I believe humans are “wired” for God.

Same thing happened to me, lifelong atheist raised by atheists. I went through two insane horrific experiences one i died for a minute and another I was arrested in a foreign country by accident due to the local police having the wrong hotel room number and me not having my passport on me due to losing it the day before. I ended up in a cell for 6 days. The one before I was stabbed and stomped.

Both times me a man wgho cursed God and mocked religion called out to God and begged for help. This was me:

If they happen to be aboard a ship Ëčcaught in a stormËș, they cry out to Allah ËčaloneËș in sincere devotion . But as soon as He delivers them ËčsafelyËș to shore, they associate Ëčothers with Him once againËș.

Bishop Robert seems like a good man. I really enjoyed his talk with cosmic septic.

And the rapture of the Church (the bride of Christ) wasn’t recognized until the 19th century.

John 1:9, “That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.”

God judges every man on how he responds to the light he is given.

But if you do not accept Jesus as your Lord and Saviour you are not the bride of Christ. As I had a discussion with a pastor, I said who will be receiving invitations to the marriage supper of the Lamb. His bride does not need an invitation.

Why? Is it wrong?

It does mix. God can contradict Himself because
 He is God.

How can an omnipotent being be caught in a contradiciton?

Yes. They say He is all powerful while also claiming what He can or can’t do or will or won’t do. They say He is limited by logic, math and science even though, in the Bible, He defies all three.
